ZAMIAS SAMUEL C. 57, of Johnstown, died September 14, 2013 in Pittsburgh. He was born February 2, 1956 in Johnstown. Son of George D. and Marianna (Dallee) Zamias. He is survived by his parents; loving wife, Kathleen (Buettner); children, Christopher, Erik, Samantha, and Michael; brothers, Damian married to Kathryn (Horty) of Pittsburgh, Stephen and Mary Ann (Lambrinos), George D., Jr.; sisters-in-law, Kimberly married to Craig Snopko and Melissa married to Ronald Blandford; brothers-in -law, Eric Buettner married to Danielle (Lambert) and David Buettner; also many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Sam was a 1975 graduate of Bishop McCort High School and attended St. Francis University and the University of Arizona. He was involved in the community and loved coaching. Everything from baseball, golf, tennis and soccer, he loved teaching and helping kids. He shared with them family values and many times held practices at his home, providing them with food and drinks. He was a leader and loved adventure. He also loved to fish and travel by RV with his family. He incorporated the business and family together, sharing with them his love of life. Sam was a loving son, husband, father, and brother and will be sadly missed. As chairman of Zamias Services Inc., he began his illustrious career in commercial development in 1976. He was involved in all aspects of the family's business. The projects he worked on and developed helped to create more than 50,000 jobs in Pennsylvania alone. As co-founder of Zamias Services Inc., he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of millions of square feet of retail projects throughout the United States. From his hometown of Johnstown, PA, he led his company as president and CEO from 2001 to 2012. Samuel built a company that put the best interest of his employees and clients first. Samuel treated all that worked with him as family. Friends received from 2-8 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2013 at FRANK DUCA FUNERAL HOME, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown, PA 15905. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church.
