RILEY FRANCES M. A long-time resident of the Pittsburgh area, died Thursday, June 13 at the home of her daughter in Los Angeles, CA. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Donald and Helen (Blobner) McLennan, Frances attended high school, excelling academically at St. Mary of the Mount in the Mt. Washington neighborhood of Pittsburgh. She was united in marriage to George J. Riley on November 25, 1950 in Pittsburgh, PA. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2008. They were married for 57 busy, active years. Frances was a brilliant woman whose favorite past time was reading. She was a skilled card player and participated in several Bridge clubs, winning often. She practiced successfully as a Real Estate agent for a number of years. She also did a stint as a travel guide strictly for the fun of it. She also loved to travel. She enjoyed extensive travel with husband, George, and later on her favorite trips were her visits to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children and spouses, Karen (Albert) Tortorella, Los Angeles, CA, Kevin (Susan) Riley, North Wales, PA, Stephen (Kelly) Riley, Lansdale, PA, and Timothy Riley, Los Angeles, CA; four loving grandchildren, Patrick, Timothy, Elizabeth, and Molly; two sisters and spouse, Nancy McLennan, Highland Beach, FL and Florence (John) Perri, Menomenee, WI. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, George McLennan. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 9-10:15 a.m., at which time a prayer will be held.
