DALZELL RAYMOND F. Age 99, of Uniontown, PA and formerly of Pittsburgh, PA passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016, in Hillside Manor with his loving family by his side. He was born July 26, 1916, in Pittsburgh, PA, son of Raymond T. Dalzell and Wilma Hall Dalzell. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Davidson Dalzell; a son, Raymond G. Dalzell; and a brother, Lawrence Dalzell. Ray enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and fought in the Pacific Theatre of Operation. He worked as a union carpenter for many years before his retirement. Ray enjoyed Mopar cars, dogs and watching the Steelers. Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Frederick Dalzell and James Dalzell; seven daughters, Evelyn Simmons and husband, Harold, Arlene Smith and husband, Forrest, Dawn Dalzell, Joan Bivens, Lynn Unetich and husband, Jeff, Virginia Kirlangitis and husband, Allan and Lou Ann Nicholson and husband, Ronald; he was called Pap by his 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA, where family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, in Jefferson Hills Memorial Chapel, 401 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236 from 10 until 11 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Ray's life will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Heather Simpson, officiating. Full military rites will be accorded at graveside by AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, PA. The family would like to thank Hillside Manor staff and Via Quest Hospice staff for their many hours of loving care shown to Ray and his family.
