DEMPSEY ROBERT E. Age 86, of Pittsburgh, passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 13, 2016. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 22, 1929, to William and Ora Dempsey. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years, Henrietta Pocernicki Dempsey. He was a retired police officer and was a dedicated member for the Fraternal Order of Police. Robert is survived by his two daughters, Kathleen (the late Tony) Domis, Jeanne (Ron) Mader; two sons, Robert (Nancy) Dempsey and John Dempsey; grandchildren, Melissa (Greg) Anslow, Kristie Domis, Bobby Dempsey, Emily (Matt) Shaffer, Jennifer (Fred) Abbondanza, Ronald Mader, and Benjamin Mader; and brother, Ronald (Emma) Dempsey. In addition to his wife, he was preceded by his parents; brother, William Dempsey; and sister, Eileen D' Ottavio. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity Catholic Church, 5802 Brownsville Road, South Park, 15129. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Park will follow.
