SLAGLE CHARLES Of Delta Twp., a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away at his home January 5, 2014. Chuck was born September 20, 1926 to the late Charles E. and Marie K. (Brown) Slagle. He was a WW II Navy veteran and served as an aviation radioman on the island of Attu in the Aleutian Islands. He graduated from the University of Pittsburg with both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Science and had a distinguished career working for the Calgon/Merck Corporations. Upon retirement, Chuck enjoyed living in Florida and often shared many fond memories of family who had enjoyed visiting. He is survived by loving wife, Greta J. (Wagner); sons, Barry; granddaughters, Lauran, Adrianne and Elizabeth; Timothy (Connie); grandson, Christopher; and Jonathan (Ann); granddaughters, Melissa and Alie; stepchildren, Gregory (Bernice) Wagner; grandson, Zachary; Douglas (Ann) Wagner; grandchildren, Corey, Stefani, Jacob and Benjamin and Carol Wagner; granddaughters, Blair and Laurel Cherrier; sisters, Mary Stapko and Margaret Cook. Chuck was preceded in death by wife, Dorothy J.; brother, Donald; and grandson, Aaron Wagner. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 11, 2014, 12 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lansing, with The Reverend Roger K. Straub, officiating. Military honors will immediately follow the Service at the church. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Grand Ledge.
