ALLEN TROY D., Dr. On Friday, March 17, 2017, Dr. Troy D. Allen (56) moved up to the rank of ancestor. A native of McKeesport, PA, Dr. Allen was a History professor at Southern University and an adjunct professor at LSU in the Department of African American Studies. Dr. Allen was blessed with educational and life wisdom beyond his years. His passion for African American History and Egyptology touched the lives of so many. He leaves behind his wife, Lia White-Allen, whom he adored and was married to for 25 years. To their union, four children were born Saiid, Khephren, Akosua, and Djoser. He also leaves behind his mother Helen Allen; two brothers Jeffrey (Marion) Allen and Todd Swindle; and one sister Tiffany Swindle. Services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, viewing 9 a.m. - 11a.m., services at 11:00 a.m. Interment in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
