
ZUGELL SISTER M. DOLORETTA, OSF (MARY FRANCES) 90, a member of the School Sisters of St. Francis, United States Province, in her 67th year of Profession, died on Thursday, January 16, 2014, in Vincentian Home, Pittsburgh, PA. Sister entered the community from St. Mary Assumption in Pittsburgh, PA in 1944 and professed her first vows in 1946 in Mount Assisi Convent Chapel in Pittsburgh, PA. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Mount Mercy College (Carlow University) in Pittsburgh, PA. Throughout her years of ministry, Sister Doloretta taught grades one through five in many of the parish schools where our sisters ministered. She taught in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and West Virginia. During her years of teaching, she played the organ in many of the parish churches. Sister Doloretta was skilled in typing and was the secretary for the Pittsburgh Diocesan Office in Oakland, Pittsburgh, and was a Census Bureau Enumeration Clerk for the Federal Government in 1970. From 1976 through 1990, she worked in the Department of Communication for the Diocese of Pittsburgh and was responsible for arranging the weekly televised Sunday Liturgy, contacting the celebrants, choirs and participants. From 1984 to 1987, she was the producer for the Mass. Sister Doloretta retired from active ministry in 1999 due to her physical decline and spent the remainder of her years in the ministry of prayer. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Bernard, Joseph, Louis and John. She is survived by her religious community, her brothers Frank and Steve; nieces and nephews. The viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. at Mount Assisi Convent on Sunday, January 19. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2014 in Queen of Angels Chapel, Mount Assisi Convent, 934 Forest Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. Arrangements by LAWRENCE T.
