SIMONS ROBERT DEWAIN ''BOB” A...

SIMONS ROBERT DEWAIN ''BOB” Age 75, recently of East Butler and formerly of Allison Park, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at his home. He was born June 22, 1941 in Buckhannon, WV, the son of the late Otha W. Simons, Sr., and Sadie (Bennett) Simons. Bob recently retired from Manheim and had previously worked as a fabricator at J.W. Steel in Mars and a purchaser for Spang and Co. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and being a longtime member of The Senior Softball Association of North Park where he had traveled and played in many tournaments. Bob loved looking forward to the annual family reunions, he enjoyed going to the beach with his family, and taking regular visits to his nephew Jim Simons' home in Charleston, South Carolina. He enjoyed spending quality time with his three girls; his grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren. He especially took pride in attending all of their activities and sporting events. He was a member of East Butler Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Mina L. (Hensell) Simons, of Allison Park, of whom he had been a long time caregiver of; his previous wife (mother of his three children), Irene E. Simons, of Butler; his three daughters, Renee L. Simons and significant other (John Jacobs), of Butler, Elizabeth "Beth" A. (Shane) Ozella, of East Butler, and Roberta I. (Jason) Prementine, of Butler; seven grandchildren, Tama (Rachel) Cassel, of MI, Brittany (Ed) Steele, of Butler, Daniel L. Steele II, of East Butler, and Hunter, Lexis, Brady, and Levi Prementine, all of Butler; two great-grandchildren, Rhiannon "Rosebud" Cassel, of MI, and Jace Robert Steele, of Butler; six stepchildren, Steve Socash, Kathryn Socash, Susan (Denny) Dutka, Amy (T.J.) Beyer, Beth (Doug) Schoedel, and Ronald (Gingy) Socash, Jr.; a number of step-grandchildren; and step-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his oldest grandson, Robert William Foulk; and a brother, Otha Simons, Jr. Friends will be received at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Sunday, April 30, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. and Monday, May 1, 2017, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mary Kitchen officiating. Interment in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
