KLINGENSMITH ROBERT G. Of Oakmont, passed peacefully on April 26, 2017. Born on October 6, 1925, to the late Charles and Ida Klingensmith, he was raised in Harmar Twp. on the Harmar Golf Club. Beloved brother of Louetta Klingensmith and Dorothy Wygant. Also survived by four nephews and six nieces. Preceded in death by brothers, C. Thomas, Kenneth, Stanley, Chester; and a niece, Karen. Robert served in the Army Air Force during WWII as a plane mechanic from May 22, 1944, and was honorably discharged on November 9, 1945. When he was out of the service, he continued to work on the golf course as well as one near Palmetto, FL. After 1955, the family sold the Harmar Golf Course and Robert, his oldest brother, and dad designed and built the Briarwood Golf Club in West York, PA. He was superintendent of the course and at a few others before going to the Foxburg Golf Club and eventually retiring from the Kane Golf Club.
