OMBRES VINCENT M. Of Harmony Twp., died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. He was born May 24, 1932, in Amantea, Province of Cosenza in Southern Italy to the late Francesco and Grazia Falsetti Ombres. He was a member of Good Samaritan Catholic Church, Ambridge, and the 112th Pennsylvania National Guard Unit for six years. He was co-owner, along with his brother John, of Ombres Auto Sales and Service in Ambridge for 63 years. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his wife, Josephine Ross Ombres, on January 16, 2006. Surviving are two brothers, John (Julia) Ombres of Freedom and Armando (Helen) Ombres of Ambridge; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Ombres Christina Ombres, Frank V. Ombres, Mary Ann Corbett, Lisa Shaw, Jody Burdett, Jacqueline Castillow, Patty Tomayko, Grace DeBona, Dr. Diane Ombres -Benson and Mary Ann Ombres; and four great-nephews, John Norberg, Matthew DeBona, Andrew Benson, and Jonathan Benson; and a great-niece, Lauren DeBona. Friends will be received Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where prayers will be offered Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Good Samaritan Catholic Church.
