SAUEREISEN WILLIAM PHILLIPS WILL Age 85, formerly of Aspinwall, on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Beloved husband of JoAnne (Brown) Sauereisen; loving father of Marion S. Derrickson, Melinda (David) Brodsky, C. Karl (Laura Jane) Sauereisen, and Jason J. Sauereisen; cherished grandfather of Alexandra, Marc-Austin, Tallula, Ry, Grace, Clark, and Clayton; brother of Ferd J. (Molly) Sauereisen. Preceded in death by his parents, C. Fred Sauereisen and Marion Phillips Sauereisen; and his brother, Phillips F. Sauereisen. Will was a graduate of Aspinwall High School and Robert Morris Business College. He was a veteran of the Korean War conflict serving overseas, with the Army. Will's career spanned over 40 years at Sauereisen Cements, a company founded in 1899 by his father and expanded internationally under the second generation leadership team. In retirement, Will served with faith and diligence for several years at North Hills Community Outreach by delivering food, conducting career counseling, and volunteering as needed. Throughout his adult life, Will cultivated a passion for youth sports, being active as a coach, but more frequently cheering on kids of the community. A true fan of the underdog. Will extolled the virtues of family, longtime friendship, and the character trait of humility. Friends will be received Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 3 p.m. until the 5 p.m. service at WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave., Aspinwall.
