WHETSTONE MARY BEHEN On April 3, 2018, at the age of 85, Mary, beloved wife of the late J. Rodney Whetstone; mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed peacefully in Langhorne, PA. Mary was born, raised, and lived in Pittsburgh most of her life having recently moved to eastern Pennsylvania to be close to family. She attended St. Catherine's Parish School and South Catholic High School where she played violin in the orchestra. Upon graduation, she worked as a contract clerk at Gulf Oil and then as a secretary at General Electric. During this period, she met Rod. They married in 1962, raised a family, and enjoyed 48 years together. Mary attended college part-time for 11 years while raising their children. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy with High Honors from California University of Pennsylvania in 1983. Mary is survived by three children: Rod Whetstone (Barbara), Rebecca Kelly (Brian) and Alan Whetstone (Jill); seven grandchildren: Ashley, Shawna, Benjamin, Madeleine, Megan, Cameron and Theo; and two great-grandchildren: Kailey and Hannah.
