ZAVASKY HELEN Age 91, of Pittsburgh, passed away April 2, 2018. She was born in Oakland on March 8, 1927, the daughter of the late Joseph Zavasky and Mary Rizak. Helen was employed for 30 plus years as a Secretary at the Greek Catholic Union, first in Homestead, PA, and then in their new headquarters in Beaver, PA. Helen was an avid Steelers fan, a sun worshiper, a baby doll collector, and the spunk and spark of laughter at all family gatherings, which were many and well-attended. Miss Helen was remembered by everyone she met and she will be dearly missed by her friends and family. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary; half brothers, Joe Shak (Eleanor), Mars PA, and Pete Shak (Marie), Galveston, TX; brothers, John Zavasky (Peggie), Orange, CA, Alex Zavasky (Dorothy), Pittsburgh, PA; sisters, Mary Siviy (Stephen), West Homestead, PA, and Ann King (Ivy), West Palm Beach, FL. Helen is survived by her brother, George Zavasky (Dorothy), Titusville, FL; sister-in-law, Eleanor Shak, Mars, PA; 21 nieces and nephews, 40 great-nieces and nephews, and five great-great-nieces and nephews, and still counting.
