KORONA EDWARD J. 84, of Moon Township, on Saturday, March 8, 2014. He was born May 2, 1929, in Fairchance, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Pleban) Korona. He was a retired Manager of Bell Atlantic with 43 years of service, a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Moon Twp., was past a president of the Bell Atlantic Pioneers Colonial Council, and was a past president and treasurer of the Moon Twp. Rotary Club. Ed served his country during the Korean War in the US Army while stationed in Korea from 1951-1954. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Catherine (Markutsa) Korona; and his children, Cathie and Vince Lutz, Moon Twp., Ed and Jennifer Korona, Fairview Texas; and the joys of his life, his grandchildren, Andrew, Amy, Christopher, and Rachel Lutz, Jessica and Joseph Korona. Also surviving are his sister, Lillian Ogar, Dearborn, Michigan; and his brothers, Joseph (Marie) Korona , Uniontown, PA and Martin (Pamela) Korona, Fairchance, PA; and several nieces and nephews; and a large extended family. Friends will be received Wednesday, March 12, 2014, 2-8 p.m. in the HUNTSMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES OF MOON TWP., 1522 Coraopolis Heights Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
