
WUSLICH SAMUEL RAYMOND Dr. Samuel R. Wuslich passed away peacefully on March 29, 2014, at the Heritage Place nursing home in Pittsburgh, after a long illness. He was 81. Born and raised near Pittsburgh in Export, PA, he excelled in baseball and basketball at Franklin High School, and later at Davis and Elkins College. Following military service in Germany, where he met his wife Bruny, who predeceased him, Dr. Wuslich received a degree in dental medicine from the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated first in his class. He went on to earn a degree in orthodontics and had prolific practices in Syracuse, New York, Frankfurt, Germany, Regina, Saskatchewan, and Marquette, Michigan. Never idle for long, following his retirement from orthodontic practice, Dr. Wuslich founded Madonna Medjugorje Messenger, Inc., which sponsored a series of eight Steel City Medjugorje Conferences held at the David Lawrence Convention Center in the 1990s to raise funds for the victims of the Bosnian Civil War. Dr. Wuslich is survived by his son, Raymond; daughter-in-law, Julie; and grandsons, David and Christopher.
