DEWIT RENÉ A. Age 76, a Moon Township resident for the past 42 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Center for Compassionate Care. He was born in Maubeuge, France on July 20, 1937, to the late Ferdinand and Berthe (Leduc) Dewit. Beloved husband for 49 years of Angela (Tambucci) Dewit; loving father of René (Debra) Dewit, Christopher (Tracy) Dewit, Richard (Jessica) Dewit, and Christine (Jeffrey) Martin; cherished grandfather of Julia, Ethan, Zachary, Emma, Maxwell, Elizabeth, Alexander, Lucas, Claire, and Elise; devoted brother of Agnes (Marcel) Dagand, Monique (Roger) Poignard, and Christiane (Max) Gastaldi; son-in-law of Mary Tambucci and the late Angelo Tambucci; brother-in-law of Sarah Tambucci and the late Arthur Tambucci. René was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church. He was retired from Metallurgical Exoproducts Corporation, where he was director of human resources. Family and friends were very important to René, and he thoroughly enjoyed any occasion to celebrate. Visitation Sunday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at COPELAND'S MOON TOWNSHIP, 981 Brodhead Rd., with prayers will be recited on Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church.
