APEL JOSEPH ROBERT BOB 84, of New Wilmington, PA, passed away on July 10, 2013 at his residence. Bob was born on October 13, 1928 in Pittsburgh to the late John William Apel, Sr. and Grace Millheizler Apel. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1951 to 1953. Bob is survived by his wife, Constance (Caye) Apel. He was employed from 1959 to 1987 as a sixth grade teacher in the East Liverpool School District. Besides his wife, Bob is survived by a daughter, Colleen (Bill) Wilver of New Castle; and a grandson, Patrick Joseph Wilver; also surviving is his sister, Mary Grace Korneff of Pittsburgh. Preceding him in death besides his parents are a daughter, Maureen Apel; and a brother, John William Apel, Jr. The family has set up a memorial fund with Fisher House Foundation, an organization which serves the needs of families of wounded military personnel. A private Blessing Service will be held Monday morning at the J. BRADLEY MCGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 111 W. Falls St., New Castle, PA.
