SCHMID ELEANORE (CONNOLLY) Age 87, passed away peacefully at her Crafton home and on her own terms, April 28, 2014. Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Norman P. Schmid; sister of Mary (Connolly) Kelly (Joseph), the late Thomas and John Connolly; mother of the late Dr. Paul B. Schmid (Helen) of Orlando, FL; survived by sons, Lee R. (Julie Teague) of Bloomington, IN, David A. (Jean) of Green Tree and Eric J. of Point Breeze; grandmother of Ewan J. Schmid (Lyndsey) and Marshall P. Schmid. Eleanore was involved for many years with local civic organizations, was an avid reader, enjoyed baking, and would create many of the world's best jello salads. Her loss will be felt by all who knew her and she will remain in our hearts forever. Family and friends received Friday 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the SCHEPNER - McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 165 Noble Ave., Crafton, where the Blessing Service will be held 8 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eleanore's name to the Crafton Public Library, 140 Bradford Ave., Pgh., PA 15205.
