LOPEZ JOSEPH "CHEPPY" Age 83, of Carrick, passed peacefully, on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Beloved husband of 59 years to Joan (Savage) Lopez; loving father of Renee (Jim) Shrewsbury, Leonard (Denise) Lopez, Carol (Ken) Rost, Ricky (Kathy) Lopez, and Shari (Brian) Cahill; grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of five. He is survived by his brother, Rudy (Betty) Lopez; and sisters, Carmen (Bob) Mervosh and Lola (Danny) Dowd. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Joseph was a man who loved his family and embraced his Mexican culture. He instilled and taught us all about the true meaning of family. His love and passion for swimming was apparent in teaching his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, where a Blessing Service will be held Saturday 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
