THOMAS F. SURACE Of Forest Hills, age 89, on Sunday, April 26, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Caroline (Fusz) Surace for 26 years. Loving and precious father of Sandra Surace of Forest Hills. Tom was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Anthony and Carmine Surace and his sisters, Frances Bracco, Mary Williams and Louise Bauer. He was also survived by nieces, nephews and his caregiver, Jerri Williams. Tom was a Korean War Air Force veteran. With the aid of the G.I. bill, he earned both his Bachelor's Degree and Master's in Elementary Education from Indiana State Teachers College (now I.U.P.). He served his entire career as an elementary school teacher with East Allegheny School District and retired in 1992. Tom enjoyed watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he was always ready to take a trip to the casino. Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, Tom's viewing, Mass of Christian Burial in St. Maurice Church and Presentation of Military Honors will be private to his family.
