
HUDNALL KENNETH LEROY Born October 2, 1925, in Cedar Grove, Kanawha County, West Virginia, died at his home of 46 years in Ohio Township, Sewickley, PA, on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was the 2nd oldest son of Preston Nimrod Hudnall and Irene M Cobb; and was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, Imogene Carte, Preston Lionel Hudnall, Arthur Ray Hudnall, Jacqueline Adkins, Betty Ann Wilson, Robert G Hudnall, Paul R Hudnall, Herbert Terry Hudnall and Peggy Jane Hudnall. He joined the Army in 1943 and proudly served in the 13th Air Force in New Guinea and the Philippines in World War II. After the war, he earned his bachelor's degree at The Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio, where he met and later married his wife of 62 years, Gladys Leiser Hudnall. He came to Western PA in 1958 with the A&P Grocery chain as an office manager for the tri-state area, and later owned several businesses including Ken's Beer Distributor and Kenmik Construction Co. An avid outdoorsman, he helped start Little League baseball in Monroeville, was Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts, was an avid hunter for many years, and was most happy spending time at his farm in Vowinckel, PA and was an enthusiastic woodcarver and craftsman. He was a longtime member at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Perrysville, PA. He is survived by his wife; and six children, Kenneth Michael and wife, June, of Boston, Diana Lynn McCloskey and husband, Chuck, of Chicago, David Nelson and wife, Melissa, of Coraopolis PA, Susan Eileen of Allison Park, Kathleen Myra White and husband, Lloyd, of Bellevue, and Walter Preston and wife, Yvonne, of Sewickley. He was a proud and loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. Visitation hours will be at BRANDT'S FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Perry Highway, Perrysville, Sunday, May 18, 2014, from 12 to 4 p.m. A Memorial Service will be planned for a later date.
