KECK FlORENCE VERA (STIVASON) “FLO” Age 80, of Coraopolis, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 12, 2014, at home. Born in Gilpin Township, PA on September 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late William Howard and Alice (Ashbaugh) Stivason. On May 17, 2011, she was preceded in death by her best friend and loving husband, Ernest L. Keck; sister of the late Bill Stivason and Ron Stivason; deeply loved and adored by her children, Alice Keck Fragale (Chris) of Hopewell Township, Jim Keck (Mary) of Dubois, PA and Tom Keck (Jane) of Phoenix, AZ; precious grandchildren who she loved dearly, Christiana Florence, Alex, Jeremiah, Abby, Adam and Joel; and sweet great- grandchildren, Adelyn, Katie, Jackson and Oakley. She was a very devoted mother and always put her children first before her own needs. After working all day as an RN, she would come home and prepare amazing dinners and get involved in her children's activities. She was an avid fan of figure skating, baseball, basketball, dance recitals, singing on the back porch, dancing in the playroom, golf, track, soccer, hunting and fishing trips, tours of Pittsburgh, musical theater, family vacations, Facebook, texting, and Dr. Oz… sharing all of these with her children and grandchildren. She was a dedicated member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Coraopolis, where she celebrated her Confirmation in 1947. She will be missed by her many very special friends within the congregation who she truly loved as sisters; also many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was loved by all and touched each soul she met with Christian compassion and Faith. Florence was a graduate of Moon High School, Class of 1951 and Sewickley Valley School of Nursing, Class of 1954. She was a dedicated and devoted R.N., working at Sewickley Valley Hospital for over 45 years and kept current with the ever changing medical technology. She was instrumental in the development of the Sewickley Valley Hospital Blood Bank. She loved each and every blood donor who entered through the doors, remembering a person's blood type and name throughout her career. She was a member of the O.E.S., Sewickley Valley Nursing School Alumni, Cornell Band Parents and Rainbow Girls #52. Visitation Friday, May 23, 2014, from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at COPELAND'S CORAOPOLIS, 867 Fifth Ave. Further visitation will be on Saturday (May 24) 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, State Ave., Coraopolis, PA 15108.
