THOMAS J. BOROWITZ, JR. Age 93, of Pittsburgh, passed away September 7, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Tomasic) Borowitz; loving father of Barbara Borowitz (Christopher) Troianos and Francine Borowitz (Denny) Chau. Proud grandfather of Rachael Troianos, Andrew (Allison) Troianos, Rebecca Troianos (Justin Morris), Matthew Chau, and Joshua Chau. Son of the late Mary (Novakowsk) and Thomas J. Borowitz, Sr. He was the loving brother of Robert (Ann) Borowitz and the late Elizabeth Zukiewicz, Irene Lovasik, Raymond Borowitz, and Vera Kurtock. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cherished friends and neighbors. Thomas was a proud WWII vet, stationed in Udine and Trieste, Italy. He was a member of the Brentwood VFW 1810 and a color guard for many years. In his free time, he loved to go dancing with his beloved wife every week. He met Barbara “Bobbie” at a dance at the Aragon Ballroom and it was love at first sight. They married nine months later and spent 64 and 1/2 years together. Growing up, he quit high school to help support his family and got his GED when he was 54. He became a security alarm troubleshooter and retired from Vector Security (originally Holmes Protection). For many years, he was an usher at St. Catherine of Siena Church and devoted to his faith. He enjoyed working in the yard, washing and babying his car, listening to music, and watching football. He loved just having a good meal, a beer, and being with family and friends. Thomas was the kindest and most loving person who lit up any room he was in. We were blessed to have him so long in our lives. Arrangements by BEINHAUER. Friends received Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at 2820 Washington Road, McMurray. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Entombment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SouthwesternVeterans Center, 7060 Highland Drive, Pgh., PA 15206 (dmva.pa.gov), VA Adult Day Care HJ Heinz Division, Bldg #71, 1010 Delafield Rd., Pgh., PA 15215, or the Alzheimer's Association, (act.alz.org).
