CHARLES H. TESSMER, JR. Charles H. Tessmer, Jr., 90, of Ross Township, died on September 11, 2020. He was born on December 14, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Charles H. Tessmer, Sr. and Mathilda (Hocke) Tessmer; loving father of Tina L. Valeska and Charles H. Tessmer, III; brother of the late David H. Tessmer and Ruth H. George; proud grandfather of Christopher J. Valeska. Charley lived in Ross Township his entire life and graduated from West View High School in 1948. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1952 and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1955 from the University of Pittsburgh. After graduation he served in the United States Army until December of 1957. Following he opened a dental practice and was elected as Ross Township Treasurer in 1965. After serving the township, he returned to the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry as an Assistant Clinical Professor, retiring in 2012. Charley was a lifelong member of North Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at North Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Service immediately following and graveside burial at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery Buente Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Please be advised that we'll be practicing social distancing and that masks with be required.
