SOSSO THOMAS D., JR. BIG DADDY Thomas, affectionately known to friends and family as Big Daddy died suddenly on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at UPMC Shadyside. Big Daddy was born August 1, 1944 to the late Thomas David and Helen Regina (Yovanich) Sosso. A longtime Pittsburgh resident, Big Daddy graduated from Central Catholic High School, attended Duquesne University and finished at Youngstown State with a degree in Psychology. He worked for the Union Railroad until retirement and lived in Bloomfield, where he was a tenant of his longtime friend, Mr. Fred Voskuhl. He enjoyed the company of many friends and family and was a central character at many functions and events. He loved the sun and had a forever tan and stood out in a crowd with his warm smile, salt and pepper hair and of course, warm personality. Brother of Daniel, Robert, James, Michael, Mary Louise, Denise Figlio, and Celeste Laderosa; uncle to Mark, Scott, Anthony Figlio, Michele Shaffer, Lauren Paulik, Anna, Maria; and uncle and godfather to Melissa Sosso Dunkor; also survived by great- nieces and nephews. An unforgettable character who touched many lives, he has left an indelible mark on many people who will continue to love and miss him and be blessed that Big Daddy passed this way. FUNERAL HOME, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside, on Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, 2-8 p.m., where Funeral will commence on Friday at 9 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stanislaus Church at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 57 21st Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
