FINDLAN JOSEPH G. Rev. Monsignor Joseph G. Findlan, 101, a priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh for 75 years, died Sunday, August 11, 2013. He is the beloved son of the late Thomas and Mary Berger Findlan; brother of the late Thomas Francis Findlan II, Richard Berger Findlan, Robert Titus Findlan, Mary Regina Findlan, and John Edward Findlan; also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was ordained a Priest for the Diocese of Pittsburgh on June 12, 1938. He served in the Diocese of Harrisburg at St. Patrick Parish, Carlisle (1938-1943) and as Parochial Vicar at St. Cyril of Alexandria Parish, North Side (1943-1950); as Chaplain to the Eudes Institute (1952-1959) and the Sisters of Divine Providence Motherhouse (1959-1960). He served as Pastor of St. John the Baptist, Unity (1960-1967) and St. Canice (1967-1986). Monsignor Findlan also headed Catholic Charities from 1950-1964. He was named a Papal Chamberlain in 1952 and a Domestic Prelate in 1964. His greatest satisfaction, he related once, was serving the people as a priest. Friends received at McCABE BROS. INC.
