CONNORS CAROLE MORGAN Age 76, of Upper St. Clair, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015. She was born December 4, 1938, in Cumberland, Maryland, to the late Samuel E. and Anna Mae (Gerdeman) Morgan. Beloved wife of 51 years to Norbert J. Connors; loving mother of Timothy (Kathryn) and Christopher (Amy); devoted grandmother of Samuel, Margaret, Kate, Claire and Daniel. Carole spent most of her childhood in Pittsburgh and was a proud graduate of Holy Rosary School and Sacred Heart High School. She earned a scholarship to Duquesne University and graduated with a B.A. in Mathematics in 1960. She took a job with IBM in Pittsburgh, teaching computer programming to employees of IBM customers, one of whom was Norb Connors, a young accountant at U.S. Steel whom she would marry in 1963. Carole became a devoted mother and homemaker, moving with her family from Chicago to Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Pittsburgh. She and Norb lived in Upper St. Clair from 1978 onward. Carole enjoyed vacations at the beach, spending time with dear friends and beloved relations, shopping for Christmas ornaments and supervising their careful placement, and pulling out a map to explain the best way to get there. Her gravy was the world's finest and her pies were right up there, too. She was a whiz with punch cards, she could make do with a command line, but she never really got the hang of double-clicking a mouse. She taught her sons to cook and do laundry, she loved their wives like the daughters she had always wished for, and she doted on her grandkids (and kept them well-supplied with adorable outfits in their preteen years). She never had an unkind word for anyone else, and the reverse is equally true. Friends will be received at BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, Sunday, March 1, 2015, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. John Capistran, 1610 McMillan Road, Upper St. Clair, Monday, March 2, 2015, at 11 a.m. Interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund, 34 Washington St., Suite 200, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481, http://curealz.org/, or to City Theatre Capital Campaign, 1300 Bingham St., Pittsburgh, PA 15203, http://www.citytheatrecompany.org.
