NELSON WAYNE Born August 18, 1938, in Lawrenceville, Wayne left this earth on August 29, 2013 after 75 years of leaving gentle footprints in the world and collecting a family of friends, all of whom he cherished and each of whom he helped become a better person in some way. His best friends were and always will be his dog, Oliver and his friends' dog, Reuben, both golden retrievers whom he faithfully walked, fed and played with for the entirety of their lives. He leaves behind an empty space in the heart of his dearest friends and his many acquaintances, all of whom will miss his sunburst smile, tender laugh, and eagerness to help at any time of the day or night. Wayne worked many different jobs throughout his lifetime, but his most important job was being Wayne to all of us who loved and protected, and were loved and protected by him. His life was a graceful prayer that will never end, as it sowed seeds of healing and joy in the uncluttered faith that "that's the right thing to do". He was a simple and gentle man in a complicated world that often forgets the important things Wayne always remembered. Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Thurs. at 10:00.
