LANGNECKER JUNE CATHERINE Age 93, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Beaver, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017. Born June 14, 1924, in Rochester, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Rena Triance. June was a 1942 graduate of Beaver High School, going on to proudly serve as a member of the U. S. Coast Guard, stationed in New York City. Upon her return to the area, she graduated from Garfield Business Institute, Beaver Falls, and was employed at the Beaver County Housing Authority and Gimbel's Department Store. June was a faithful parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver and an active volunteer of the Crimson Line Auxiliary at the former Beaver Valley Geriatric Center. In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Langnecker; and three sisters, Eunice Beardshall, Patricia Waters, and Joan Triance. FATTAL FLORENCE Age 100, formerly of Beaver Falls, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Reformed Presbyterian Home in Pittsburgh where she resided. She was born and raised in Latakia, Syria and came to the United States in 1958. She graduated from Geneva College, Beaver Falls in 1962 with majors in English and Bible. In 1964 she received her M.A. degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh where she continued to advance her degree to 12 hours short of a Ph.D. Florence devoted her entire life to the Reformed Presbyterian Church as a deaconess for 15 years, treasurer and various other church affiliated organizations. Miss Fattal was employed as an Assistant Librarian at Geneva College for nearly 27 years, where she volunteered for nine years after her retirement in 1991. WOSCEK IRENE Age 79, of West Deer Township, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord, Tuesday, July 25, 2017, with her family by her side. She was born in Vandergrift to the late John and Agnes (Sadecky) Svezeny. Irene grew up in Vandergrift and graduated from Vandergrift High School in 1956. After graduating she worked as a key punch operator at US Steel. Soon after that she married William and raised her family. She was devoted to her church and the rosary. In her teenage years, she was a member of the Sodality of Holy Trinity Church in Vandergrift. She was a wonderful cook who delighted in baking for her family. Her specialty was traditional Slovak food. She also enjoyed listening to the Saturday afternoon polkas. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Woscek of Gibsonia; her children, Martin (Lorraine) Woscek, Diane (Erik) Schultz, Paul (Juliette) Woscek, Kathleen (James) Cardellini; and her grandchildren, Danielle, Matthew, and Adam Schultz. She is also survived by her sister, Mildred Sutara, along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sister Estelle Svezeny, OSB. A private Funeral Mass was conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at St. Victors R.C. Church in Bairdford, with the Rev. James P. Holland, officiating. BARTHE HENRY P. Henry Prosper Barthe, age 87, of Savannah, Georgia and widower of Helen Wagner Barthe, died Wednesday evening, August 2, 2017, at Memorial University Medical Center. Born in Lock No. 4, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Charles Victor Barthe and the late Augustine Castainer Barthe. Mr. Barthe was a member of Montgomery Presbyterian Church and a former member of Christ Presbyterian Church Pooler. He was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, USA for more than 50 years and an Elder Emeritus at Christ Presbyterian Church Pooler. Mr. Barthe was a Merchant Marine officer and a United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a mechanical engineer who retired as a Vice President with Schroeder Industries in Pittsburgh, manufacturers of mining and hydraulic testing equipment. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norva Dorothy Jacobs; and a brother, Charles Louis Barthe. Surviving are one daughter, Jean B. Strong and her husband, Keith, of Savannah, Georgia; one son, Wayne W. Barthe and his wife, Carol, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and four grandchildren, Samantha S. Strong, Brandon R. Gary spent two memorable summers in Los Angeles as Bob Hope's personal assistant. In his career he helped establish more than 100 businesses and he was a contributing author of four books in the area of business and estate planning. Gary loved to travel, was an avid nature lover, hiker, biker or simply got joy from a walk on the labyrinth. He never met a beach chair that he didn't love. He was deeply caring to those he held close and passionately, devoted to his two dogs. He was a man with a quiet inner strength. He was born May 12, 1935, in Pittsburgh, a son of Andrew and Stella Ercoli Jesensky. Mr. Jesensky was retired as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Upper St. Clair. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and also in the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Jesensky was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and American Legion Post 643 in Avella. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2017, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville, with Reverend Richard J. Tusky as celebrant.
