HOWES EDWARD A. Age 91, of Naples, FL, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away November 5, 2017. Edward was born in Trafford, PA on September 25, 1926, to the late Hubert and Constance Howes. He was a graduate of Trafford High School and Kent State University and a WWII veteran. He was employed as director of benefits and planning at PPG Industries. He loved his family and enjoyed a good round of golf. Edward is survived by his brother, Hubert Howes, of North Canton, Ohio; daughters, Pauline Howes of Atlanta, GA, Brenda (Bill) Barlek of Ohio Township, PA, and Amy (Dan) Burgundy of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Dr. Mark Barlek and Scott Barlek; and partner, Cecily Duvekot. Per his wishes, there will be no visitation and services will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Humane Society of the United States or The First Tee youth golf program. LIPP ELEANORE JEAN (OTTO) Age 92, of Chippewa Twp., passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Franciscan Manor where she was a resident. Born August 18, 1925, in the Beaver Gibson Hospital, Beaver, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jean Shane Otto. A graduate of Beaver High School, Geneva College, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. A member of the Chippewa United Methodist Church, Eleanore worked as a school nurse for the Beaver Falls and Hopewell school districts, was former State Treasurer for the Women's Dental Auxiliary, Treasurer for Daughters of the American Revolution for many years. Member of Meals-on-Wheels, Beaver, Fort McIntosh Club, Beaver, United Way, Beaver County, retired school nurses' association, and the Merrick Art Gallery, where she served as a board member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Elmer Robert Lipp. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Charles Timothy and Lisa Lipp, Patterson Twp.; two grandsons, Dr. Timothy J. MARSHALL SISTER BARBARA MARY A Pittsburgh Sister of Mercy for 62 years, died at the Convent of Mercy on November 9, 2017. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was 79 years old. Daughter of John and Ann (Zolczer) Marshall, Sister Barbara Mary entered the Sisters of Mercy from St. Joseph's, in Port Vue in 1955 and made final vows in 1961. Sister Barbara Mary earned a Bachelor of Science Ed from Mount Mercy College (now Carlow University) and a Master of Elementary Education degree from Duquesne University. She was also licensed as a personal care home administrator. Sr. Barbara Mary taught in several area Catholic schools including St. Winifred's, North America Martyrs in Monroeville, and Carlow Campus School where she also served as director of admissions. Sr. Barbara Mary spent six years teaching at St. Thomas the Apostle School in South Miami, FL and was administrator for Family Service Corp., Inc. before assuming responsibilities for day to day operations of the Motherhouse in Oakland, a position she held until 2008. For many years after, she volunteered at The Intersection in McKeesport, PA. Joan Wheeler, Sr. Barbara Mary's younger and only sister, stated "I was so blessed that God chose Barb to be my dear sister. She was the kindest, most giving person I've ever known." Sr. Patricia McCann, a personal friend, stated "Sr. Barbara Mary was one of the gentlest persons I've ever known. In every situation her priority was always the people involved. I remember one time when she was serving as administrator of a residence for the elderly. She had the home purchase a big, old limo bus from an undertaker, and then learned to drive it so she could take the elderly residents out for lunch or day trips." Preceded in death by her parents, Sister Barbara Mary is survived by her sister, Joan Wheeler, of Murrells Inlet, SC; niece, Barbara Drennen of Myrtle Beach, SC; nephew, Eric Wheeler, of Simpsonville, SC; many cousins and five grandnieces and grandnephews. Friends will be received Sunday, November 12, 2017, from 3:30-7:00 p.m. at the Convent of Mercy, 3333 Fifth Avenue with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Convent of Mercy, followed by interment in St. Xavier Cemetery, Latrobe. DUBBS WILLIAM G. “BILL” Age 77, of Finleyville, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Jefferson Hills Borough. He was born June 21, 1940 in New Eagle; a son of William and Thelma George Dubbs. Mr. Dubbs was retired as a butcher with Monongahela Foodland and previously owned and operated, along with his father and brother, the former Dubbs Market in Finleyville. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, was a member of First Presbyterian Church and American Legion Post 613, both in Finleyville, and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. Surviving are two daughters, Cherie Colucci (Don Cislak) of New Eagle and Shellie Mitchell (John) of Canonsburg; a sister, Kay Dubbs of Finleyville; four grandchildren, Chase, Trevor, Maddy and Jordyn; a sister-in- law, Peggy McLaughlin (Frank) of New Eagle; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are his wife, Sondra Wall Dubbs, who died in June of 2015; and a brother, Kenneth Dubbs. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at KEGEL FUNERAL HOME, INC., Tim P. KUMAR DR. SATISH S. Dr. Satish S. Kumar passed away on November 9, 2017. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie S. Kumar and his father, Laxman Prasad Shrivastava. Dr. Kumar immigrated to the United States in 1979 and settled in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from medical school in India and completed his residency in pediatrics at Illinois Masonic Medical Center. From there, he spent the next 20 years working at a Pediatric practice in Waynesburg, PA before relocating to Ohio in 2004 and thereafter taking a position at Vlad Pediatrics in Cortland, Ohio. Within moments of meeting Dr. Kumar, his passion for Medicine was apparent. It was so much more than what he did; it was a part of who he was. Even in social settings, somehow the conversation would turn to discussion of the newest medical advancements or recent findings in the pediatric field. His patients became like extended members of the family, and the love he had for them was rivaled only by his love for his own children and his grandson. Dr. Kumar is survived by his mother, Vidyavati Shrivastava; his wife, Dr. Madhubala Kothari; his daughter, Neena and her husband, Mark Rawls; his sons, Puneet Kumar and Dev Kumar; his grandson—son of Neena and Mark Rawls—Micah Samir Rawls; his extended family in both the US and India; and the hundreds of patients and families upon whom his work and dedication had such a positive impact. There will be a memorial service honoring Dr. Satish S. Kumar's life on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at BEINHAUER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2630 West Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216. BARGEBUHR ALAN H. Age 83, formerly of South Hills, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the Jefferson Medical Center in Clairton. Born December 22, 1933, in New York City, he was the son of the late Herbert and Jeanette Aron Bargebuhr. Alan retired as the District Director of the Pennsylvania Public Welfare Office in McKeesport. He was a veteran of the Army and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Survivors include a daughter, Rachel J. Bargebuhr of Ellwood City and his best friend, Georgia Stuart of Whitehall. Per Alan's request, there will be no services.
