KNOCH WILLIAM H. “BILL” Age 75, of Ross Twp., on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017. William, affectionately known as "Bill" will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him for his upfront personality, kind heart, and willingness to help anyone who needed it. Bill was known for always doing things "the right way". He was the Patriarch of his family, providing for his loving wife, and three children for many years. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who led by example. He was a longtime member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Elk's Lodge No. 339, The Masonic Lodge No. 716, and the Highland Country Club. Bill spent nine seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization as a pitcher. After baseball Bill went on to start his own International Sales Company named after his three children, BBK International that is still in business today. In his spare time, Bill was an avid golfer, and was inducted into the 2015 North Hills Sports Hall of Fame. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to the former Nancy Tyson; loving father of William (Mollie) Knoch, Brad (Stephanie) Knoch, and Kacey (Dan) Davis; proud papa of Sarah, Kristina, Grace, Ella, Jackson, and Willy. Family and friends received Wednesday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills, where services will take place Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park. LUCAS SUSAN E. (KAEFER) Age 52, of Shaler Twp., passed away peacefully after a long battle on Nov. 11, 2017 surrounded by family. Susan was born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 17, 1964. Susan was married to Rich Lucas on Jan. 22, 1983, they were married 34 years. She enjoyed watching and cheering on her Pittsburgh Pirate and Steelers. She also enjoyed and loved playing Bingo at the local Firehalls and VFWs. Susan was the beloved wife of Rich Lucas; mother of Justin Lucas (Maggie), Madison Lucas; adored grandmother of Gavin Lucas; sister of Michael Kaefer (Barb), Cathy Carlisle (Glenn), Stephen Paul Kaefer (Kim), Joesph Kaefer, Jason Kaefer, Joshua Kaefer, Jim Evachek (Trish); loving sister-in-law to Betty Schultz (Glenn), Vernie McCandless (late Paul), Janet Wiemer (Dave), Peggy Mitchelltree (late George). KORICA PETER, Jr. Age 81, of Washington, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 11, 2017, in the Washington Hospital. He was born November 1, 1936, in Bridgeville, a son of Peter and Katherine Klaich Korica, Sr. Mr. Korica was a graduate of Bridgeville High School. He served with the US Army Signal Corps from November 1959 to February 1962. For 22 years, he worked for Papercraft of Blawnox as a system analyst and data processing manager, retiring in 1985. Following his retirement, he partnered with his brother to form Korica Sunrooms of Canonsburg for two years. He belonged to the American Legion Post #902 of Houston and the Houston Independent Club. Mr. Korica was an avid golfer and belonged to the league at Village Green Golf Course. He also enjoyed boating. On April 11, 1959, he married Joyce Dielsi who died December 20, 2011. Surviving are a sister, Helen Fatigati of Cecil; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Korica of S. Fayette Twp.; his loving companion of two years, Shirley Mucha of Peters Twp.; loving nieces, Valerie Harper (Chuck), Mary Jo Groves (Rob), Joyce Shaw (Kevin), Karen Gilchrist (Rob), Vicki Geffrey; and nephews, (Michael), Bill Fatigati, Jr. (Diane) and Veto Asti, Jr.; and many great-nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, Emil Korica; two sisters, Mary Drexler and her husband, Joseph and Emilie Asti and her husband, Veto; and a brother-in-law, Bill Fatigati. LEVDANSKY DEIDRE On Saturday, November 11, 2017, Deidre Levdansky, age 70, passed away suddenly. She was the beloved daughter Anthony Richard Levdansky (deceased) and Dorothy Joan Levdansky. Deidre called her mother nightly to “hear a story” about times past. She cherished their relationship and always treasured her “best friend.” Deidre learned from the best and became a mother to three children, Jeffery, Jennifer and Kate. She loved them deeply and was always a major support system, confidant and friend. Each of her children has been blessed with spouses, that became her daughter and sons-in-love, Debra, Ron and Joseph (respectively). These relationships blessed Deidre with her five grandchildren; Kirsten, Tony, Brett, Tessa and Zachary. She was happiest in the time she spent with “her kids”, as you could easily see through the pure and genuine affection she showed while with them. She adored something specific about all of them, Kirsten's intellectual drive, Tony's determination, Brett's humor, Tessa's pure heart and the fact that Zachary was so much like her- wonderfully stubborn! Cecilia (sister) and Steven Cicero (brother-in-law); and nieces, Michelle, Amanda and Stephanie, always had a special place in Deidre's heart as she held close such fond memories of the adventures they once experienced together. Deidre also leaves behind her fur child, Gabriella, who has been a faithful and loyal companion for the last 13 years. CRAWFORD CHARLES W., Jr. Husband of the late Shirley; loving dad of Mary Joyce (Fred) Burger III, Chuck (Gretchen) Crawford; and Pap to Colin and Jack; brother of Joan (Hap) Barnes of Lima, OH and the late Mae Logue, Ray (surviving spouse, Barbara) Crawford and Beverly Galderisi. Chuck served in WWII and played and traveled all over the world playing baseball for the 8th Army. He worked for 40 years at Bell Telephone (Verizon) and then North Pittsburgh Phone Co. He also volunteered for 32 years teaching art to handicap adults at the Easter Seal Society. A graduate of Oliver High School and Carnegie Mellon University, he also coached baseball in Brighton Heights for over 20 years. Chuck leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. MJ and Chuckie want to acknowledge the wonderful help from friends and neighbors (especially Barb) and his special nurse and friend, Janet. Beloved husband for 56 years of Joyce (Newton) Birkhimer; dear father of Kimberly (George) Krause, Derrick (Toni) Birkhimer, Pamela Fornadley-Gorski, Suzanne Sorce, Jill Michelle Birkhimer, and Mary Frances Kohler; proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; brother of Gordon (Susan) Birkhimer. SCOTT DR. JOHN BRENT Dr. John Brent Scott, of Boynton Beach and formerly of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 9, 2017. He was 54. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 26, 1963, he is the loving son of Jack A. and Carol Ann Scott (Pawlak). Brent was a graduate of Fox Chapel High School, Fox Chapel, PA in 1982. He then attended as a pre-med student at Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL. Graduating in 1986, Dr. Scott went on to complete his residency in Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Scott is survived by his parents; his brother, Michael Douglas Scott (Christine); and is the uncle of Dustin, Tryphtin, Kianna, and Riley Scott. ZEIDLER JAMES F. Age 86, of Cranberry Twp., on Monday, November 13, 2017. Born Nov. 11, 1931, son of Charles and Elizabeth Zeidler. Beloved husband of 60 years to Loretta M. Zeidler; loving father of Sue Zeidler, Marianne (the late Don) Batista, Jim Zeidler, and Richard Zeidler; proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren; and great-grandfather of eight great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Rd., Cranberry Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Cemetery.
