BARTOS MICHELE M. Age 69, of Penn Hills, PA, passed away November 26, 2017, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pgh. Born December 16, 1947, in Pittsburgh, to the late Harry E. and Margaret P. (Griffin) Bruce. Wife of the late Charles J. Bartos, who passed in 2008; also predeceased by two sisters, Roseann Khan and Carol Bruce. Michele worked in IT for Highmark for 40 years. She had a love of the arts, both directing and performing. She was formerly active with the Penn Hills Players, the McKeesport little theater, and the Penn Hills High School musicals. More recently she was an associate director for the Riverview School District Musicals for the past 18 years. Michele also enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Christopher A. (Traci) Bartos, of Marshall Twp.; three grandchildren, Sydney, Alexandra, and Owen Bartos; a brother, Harry “Sonny” E. Bruce, of Plum; also survived by several nephews and a niece. BRENDEL ERIC M. Also known as "The Fun Guy" or "The Puma", age 59, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully November 26, 2017. Born on May 8, 1958, he was the son of Fred Brendel and the late Eleanor Brendel. He was the loving father of Christian Brendel and Erica Brendel; dear brother of Gary (Anne) Brendel, Linda (Steve) Henderson, Mark (Shelly) Brendel, and Jay (Sue) Brendel; also survived by the mother of his children, Christy Brendel; many nieces, nephews and friends. Eric was a proud and dedicated member of Local 5 Electrical Union. He enjoyed being outdoors, but most of all he loved being at his camp entertaining friends and family. BEMER Dr. KEITH, Ph.D. Dr. Keith Bemer, Ph.D., an Upper School Science Teacher at the Winchester Thurston School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017, following a recurrence of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. He was 41 years old. Keith was a hero to his wife and to his three young daughters, ages three, five and eight. He will be remembered for his kindness, his curiosity, his strength and his love of learning. Keith is survived by his wife, Jessica, and his three young daughters; his mother, Bonnie, in Cleveland, Ohio; his late father, William Bemer, Jr.; his brother, Matt, in Cleveland, Ohio; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Geraldine and John Warner, in Greenbrae, California; his brother-in-law, Brian Warner, in Santa Monica, California; a niece and nephew, and many aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the country. GIDO JOHN M. Passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017. He was born on the family farm in Girard, Pennsylvania-Just west of Erie-on November 11, 1934. He played football in high school and after graduation attended Edinboro State Teachers College. There he wrestled, boxed in the Golden Gloves, and met his future bride, Patricia A. Woodhouse. After college, he served with the US Marines in Japan and the Philippines. Upon returning from active duty, he married Patty Woodhouse in 1958 and began his career in public education as a middle school science teacher. After earning his master's degree from Duquesne University, he became an administrator in the Upper St. Clair School District, where he would work in various capacities for his entire career. John and Patty had a son, Samuel P. Gido, in 1966, followed by a daughter, Jessica LeGrow (Gido) in 1971. John remained in the Marine Reserve, eventually rising to the rank of Major. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Steelers fan. He was also the announcer at Upper St. Clair Panther High School football games for over 50 years. After retirement, he and Patty especially enjoyed traveling and they welcomed four grandchildren, Lily Gido, Kyle Gido, Jack LeGrow and Sammy LeGrow. After Patty passed away in 2008, John found companionship with Judy Salvatore, a longtime friend and colleague from the St. Clair Schools. Always a fitness enthusiast, John was walking and working out regularly, and was very healthy up until the onset of a brief illness over the last few months. John is survived by his children and grandchildren, and a brother, George Gido, who still lives near the homestead where they grew up. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. DRISCOLL JAMES P., Sr. Jim Driscoll, passed away peacefully at home on November 21, 2017. His sons, Jim, Jr. and Kirk and daughters-in-law, Carly and Patty and wife, Sue Ann Driscoll were by his side. Jim was born in Pittsburgh on June 26, 1937. He worked for Eazor Express and Neoplan. His favorite job for 21 years was driving a school bus for North Allegheny School District. He loved cars and was a founding member of the North Hills Historic Auto Club. He enjoyed bicycling the trails with his buddies and traveling to places near and far with Sue Ann. He will be missed by his stepchildren, Laura L. Borg and John Thomas Lundy, Jr.; and grandchildren, Kayla Lundy and Justin and Sabrina Borg. MARSHALL JOAN (STEIN) Joan Marshall, dedicated wife of the late Thomas Marshall; loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, passed away on November 22, 2017, at the age of 89. As a Pittsburgh native, Joan will be most remembered for her love of family, faith, and patriotism. Joan touched countless lives and her legacy lives on through her heartfelt words, “U R Special,” which she shared with all of her family whom she held dear. Jageman; mother of Tom (Rosemary) Jageman, Larry Jageman, Kathy (Chris) Phillips, Greg (Sharon) Jageman, and John (Beth) Jageman; sister of Elizabeth Monyok, Charles (Catherine) Donnelly, and the late Margaret Miles; also survived by 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. Rosemary was a former president of the Thomas Jefferson High School Football Mother's Club, an officer in Canterbury Women's Club, and was a longtime member of St. Thomas A'Becket Parish, where she was actively involved in the church choir for many years. Rosemary led an active and joyous life in service to her extended family and God. Dancing, playing cards, and swimming were among her favorite activities. Friends received Friday 1 - 3 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at the GRIFFITH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5636 Brownsville Road, (at 6th St.), South Park Twp. (412) 655-4600. Funeral prayer Saturday 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas A'Becket Church at 11 a.m. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
