STOVER RICHARD A. Richard A. Stover, age 68, of Hampton Township, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Born September 7, 1949 in Morgantown, WV, Rich was a well-known Matco Tools Distributor. He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn (Smykla) Stover; two sons, Eric (Megan) Stover and Adam (Emily Kallay) Stover; grandchildren, Cayden, Violet and Finn; brother, Jack (Maribeth) Stover; sisters, Donna (John) Rusinko and Sharon (Jim) Overmier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elias R. and Barbara (Molisse) Stover; and sister, Sandra. LOVEJOY JOANNE “THERESA” JoAnne “Theresa” Lovejoy, of Rostraver Township, died at home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Grace (Dunn) Kramer. A homemaker, she was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver. JoAnne “Theresa” was a member of the Third Order of Carmelites and the Mt. Carmel Hermitage in Bolivar, PA. She was a Pilot Observer in Search and Rescue Work. She is survived by her husband, Ed Lovejoy; brother, Ronald Kramer; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Judith) Lovejoy; sister-in-law, Terri Lovejoy; niece, Hanna Lovejoy; nephews, Christopher and Darrin Lovejoy; and numerous other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Kramer; and two brothers-in-law, Ronald Lovejoy and Phillip Lovejoy. MARLOVITS JOHN L. “JACK” John L. “Jack” Marlovits, devoted husband, loving father and a man of deep faith, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017. A humble man, he is dearly remembered for his disciplined character, dry wit, and his dedication to his family and friends. Jack was born in Millvale, PA on January 3, 1939, to the late George and Rose (Prascovits) Marlovits who were young immigrants from Austria. Born above his family's tavern, Jack and his twin brother, Joseph, were the first set of twins born in the City of Pittsburgh in 1939. He attended grammar school at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church and was a 1956 graduate of Shaler High School. As a young man, Jack was an avid baseball player and a member of the Wible Wildcats where he played second base and created lifelong friendships. He attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1960. Upon graduation from Pitt, he entered the US Army and served in the Army Medical Service at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. He remained in the Army Reserve until 1966. In 1961, Jack joined the Mellon Bank Corporation where he enjoyed a long and fruitful career within the retail banking sector. After working for several years in Beaver Falls, PA, he launched Mellon's highly successful, first branch in Beaver, PA. He spent many years of his career as the manager of the Sewickley branch of Mellon and retired at age 55 as an Assistant Vice President. Beloved by his colleagues, Jack was a caring, considerate manager who enjoyed the respect and admiration of his peers. A longtime member of the Sewickley community, Jack served on the Sewickley Chamber of Commerce where he spearheaded business redevelopment efforts in the Village. After retiring from Mellon, he embarked on a second career spanning 15 years at the Sewickley Heights Golf Club. As a natural people person and old drill sergeant, Jack found great pleasure in serving as Caddy Master and Pro Shop Assistant and enjoyed rich and jovial relationships with members and staff alike. A deeply spiritual man, Jack was a member of Saint James Catholic Church in Sewickley. He served for many years on the parish Finance Committee and led Men's Retreats at St. Paul's Retreat House. Additionally, he was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. More than anything, Jack loved his family. He was preceded in death eight months to the day by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn (Walsh). He was a loving caregiver to her as she battled dementia in her final years. He is the father of four children: Gregory Marlovits (Cathy), Erin Marlovits-Rodgers (Floyd), Shawn Marlovits (Christine Kotarba) and Tara Marlovits. Known as Pappy, he was a loving and cherished grandfather to Max, Sara, and Ella. Jack was the youngest of five children and twin brother of Joseph Marlovits (Agnes), and brother of Helen Bartz (Del), Steve Marlowe (Mary Ann), and Ann Connor (the late Frank); also nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving visitors on Monday, December 18, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8p.m. at COPELAND'S SEWICKLEY, 702 Beaver St. followed by Mass at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Saint James Catholic Church, 200 Walnut St., Sewickley. Rev Thomas J. Burke and Rev. Ken Marlovits, Jack's nephew, will co-celebrate the Funeral Mass. Burial services will be private. BOYLE JEAN POPE Jean Pope Boyle, age 76, died peacefully with her children by her side on December 10, 2017, at Highland Hospital, after a brief struggle with cancer. Jean was born January 17, 1941, in Duquesne, PA, the daughter of Peter Paul Pope and Zella Orris. Jean had a fantastic sense of humor, joking with her daughter, friends and nurses until her very last days. She was an avid gardener who always started her days with coffee, the newspaper and a smile. Jean thoroughly enjoyed going to shows, concerts and musicals with her many friends. When she wasn't busy at Zumba classes or entertaining her neighbors with parties and dinners, Jean loved to read while overlooking her beautiful gardens. Jean graduated from Duquesne High School and earned a bachelor's degree at Roberts Wesleyan College. She worked for St. Mary's Church in Downtown Rochester, then spent the last 20 years of her career at Valley Manor Apartments as director of development and as arts curator for the 1570 Gallery. She loved all of the residents and had a special affinity for the elderly. In addition to raising her two children, Jean loved spending time with her two cats, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, helping others and traveling. Her most recent trip included a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. Jean is survived by her daughter, Rebecca L. Boyle (Dr. Joseph Viola) of Penfield; son, Kevin S. Boyle, Sr. (Elizabeth); grandsons, Kevin, Jr. and Sean Patrick, of Houston, TX; and Gerald T. Boyle of Batavia, the father of her children. She was born July 4, 1939, in McDonald, a daughter of the late Vero and Prema Sartori Truzzi. Mrs. Lheureau was the former owner of McDonald Pharmacy and was a graduate of the Ohio Valley School of Nursing. She enjoyed horseback riding, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and family. ORAM ALLAN SEARLE Age 103, on December 11, 2017, at Friendship Village of the South Hills in Upper St. Clair, PA. Allan was born March 21, 1914 in Baltimore, MD and raised in Fostoria and Toledo, Ohio. He is a graduate of Miami University of Ohio and Harvard Business School. Allan married Jane Piper, who he met at Miami University in 1939.They lived in Massachusetts and New Jersey while he worked for Proctor and Gamble. They moved to Pittsburgh in 1942 when Allan began his long career in Market Research with the United States Steel Corporation. He volunteered for service in the US Navy during WWII. He attained the rank of Lieutenant in the capacity of Supply Officer in England and France. After VE Day, he was seconded to the Army in Berlin with the Office of Military Government, United States which was engaged in keeping the German population fed and restoring the economy. He was privileged to attend the Nuremburg Trials and to roam Berlin and the ruins of the former government. On his return to Pittsburgh, Allan and Jane settled in Mt. Lebanon, where they raised their three children. He was active in the Home Owners Protective Association, the Traffic Commission and was a Commissioner for the First Ward. He and Jane enjoyed many years of work and travel in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. They continued their travels after his retirement from USS when he began a long stint of steel industry consulting for UEC: assisting countries in the Middle East, Asia and South America with their plans for building their domestic steel industries. After Jane's death in 1988, Allan married Ann Southworth Frost and later moved with Ann to Friendship Village. After Ann's death, Al became a vital and admired member of the Friendship Community. He co-founded the great decisions programs and served on several committees. He is survived by his three children; daughter, Susan Chaudler and her husband Richard, of Ashfield, MA, Barbara of Mt Lebanon, PA and a son Andrew Oram and his wife, Lisa of Riverside CT; his three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Al will be inurned at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Friendship Village.
