SHEFFEY MICHAEL E. Age 54, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away on December 26, 2017, he was born November 17, 1963, in Homewood, Pennsylvania to James and Odessa Sheffey. He graduated from Penn Hills High School in 1981. Michael worked as an Electronic Technician at J. N. Sheffey Associates, a family business started by his father James N. Sheffey in 1961. Michael worked from 1980 to 2017. As a child, Michael loved playing baseball, and football. As an adult, he loved watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a car enthusiast. He spent a lot of time regaling the American muscle car. Always debating which was better, the Chevy Camaro or Dodge Challenger, he finally decided his favorite was the Camaro. Michael was known for his quick wit and large vocabulary. Michael is survived by his mother, Odessa Sheffey; sister, Anna Coulibaly; brother in-law, Moussa Coulibaly; nephew, James Coulibaly; nieces, Bintou and Alaina Coulibaly; uncle, Samuel Sheffey; aunt, Bessie Sheffey; and a host of loving cousins, family members and friends. CARLETON THOMAS R. Age 85, of Moon Township, formerly of Everett, MA, passed away on Sunday, Christmas Eve 2017 at Brighton Rehab Wellness Center. He was born in Malden, MA on June 30, 1932, to the late James and Gertrude (O'Brien) Carleton. Beloved husband of Susan (Barry) Carleton whom he married on April 6, 1973; loving father of Kimberly McCann and her husband, Paul of Hopewell; brother of the late Mildred Carleton, Gertrude Vangel and James Carleton; also many loving nieces and nephews. Thomas was Vice President of Engine Maintenance for U.S. Airways. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church and U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Tom was a sports nut for Boston, enjoying the Red Socks, Celtics and Bruins. As a young man growing up in Massachusetts, he was a graduate of Everett High School and his claim to fame was being the best second baseman and center fielder for his softball leagues. Tom was known to enjoy a beer or Manhattan or two, while betting on the horse races at Ladbrokes. It was a respectful family tradition of Tom's to break into his rendition of “God Bless America” at any family celebration, with all gathered, standing. Tom was just fun to be around. WATACH GEORGE EDWARD George, 91, of Oakdale, North Fayette Twp., died Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in his home. He was born August 26, 1926, in New York, a son of the late George and Mary Watach. Mr. Watach was a member of St. Patrick's R.C. Church in Noblestown. He was a retired maintenance electrician supervisor having worked for 37 years at First Energy of East Lake, OH and enjoyed golfing, bowling and dancing the polka. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Surviving are his wife of 68 years Betty L. Scrimshaw Watach; children, the late Barbara Tomekalski, Jacqueline M. (Stephen) Ickes of OH, Suzette E. (Roger) Stewart of SC, Yvonne L. (Kevin) Shockey of Oakdale; brother and sisters, Joe (Dorothy) Watach of PA, Ann Hagen of CA, Betsy Ingram of WV; son-in-law, Richard Tomekalski of OH. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Dustin Orr and his sisters, Josephine, Mary and Alice. Born January 31, 1923 in Hartford CT, she was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings. She is survived by her sister Jean Lombard, nieces and a nephew. Sister was an educator and principal for 43 years primarily at St. Gabriel and St. Valentine. Filled with a missionary spirit Sister Irene served in Brazil for 12 years and the Franciscan Child Day Care Center for 7 years. MARTINKOVICH ELEANORE (SANTACROCE) Age 90, a life-long resident of Coraopolis, was reunited in heaven with her husband of 57 years on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, from West Hills Health Care Center. She was born in Pittsburgh on July 26, 1927, to the late Dominic and Mary (Polce) Santacroce. On January 11, 1947, she married the love of her life, Robert “Zeke” Martinkovich who passed on October 30, 2004. They have three beloved children, Nancy Ryan (Bruce), Robert “Zeke” Martinkovich (Stacy), and Mary Corso (John); four cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Bobby, Carly and Scott; and so proud to have one great-grandson, Zachary. Eleanore was the last of her family, preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Mary Lou Paul (Bill), Jenny Yanessa (Tony), William “Willie,” Victor (Jo Ann) and Alphonso “Funzy” Santacroce (Stella). COLONNESE CLEMENT F., JR. Clement F. Colonnese, Jr. of Erie, PA (formerly of Deland, Fl) died peacefully at home Monday, December 25th, surrounded by his family. The son of Clement Sr. and Gertrude (Bott) Colonnese, Clement was born June 29, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA. He is survived by his wife Brenda (Hinman); daughter Michelle Totleben (John) with whom he resided, daughter Suzanne Parker, son Christopher Colonnese, all of Erie, PA, daughter Michelle Colonnese (James Flatley) of South Carolina; sisters Patricia Gardner and Joyce Paschl of Pittsburgh and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Clement attended South High and South High Vocational School in Pittsburgh and was a US Army veteran, honorably discharged in 1961. He held many jobs over his lifetime, from steel work to retail management, but his real gift was as an entrepreneur who made his own way. Since 1971, he owned a variety of businesses, starting with A.A. Canine Coiffure in Pittsburgh, PA. His last and longest running venture reflected his love of photography and cameras with Clem's Classic Cameras shop in Daytona Beach, established in 1992 and still going. Pride in his Italian heritage inspired Clem to learn Italian and visit Italy, seeking out his family's hometown of Nocera Terinese. He visited numerous times over the past 20 years, meeting cousins and making new friends. One of his many interests and hobbies included tropical fish. He maintained beautiful aquariums in his home and built numerous ponds on his property. He also loved history and had an encyclopedic knowledge of the Civil War. He was a generous man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was unique and will be missed by family and friends. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SCHULTZ EDWARD L. Of Forest Hills, age 98, died on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Barcic) Schultz for 49 years; loving father of Edward J. (Sandy) Schultz of FL, JoAnn (Bill) Seman of Forest Hills and the late Anna Marie (surviving spouse, John); dear grandfather of Bill (Jill) Prichard, Joey (Stephanie) and Alex (Candace) Schultz, Michelle (Shahjahan) Sultan and Michael Seman; proud great-grandfather of Anna Prichard, Oliver, Lucy and Clare Schultz; brother of Helen Halchak of FL. Preceded in death by his brothers, George, William and Joseph Schultz and his sisters, Caroline Simon, Louise Cain and Ann Rodgers. Ed was a WWII Army veteran and served with the Ninth Infantry division. He participated in eight campaigns: Landing of Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and the Battle of the Bulge. He served 42 months overseas and was awarded, in addition to other medals, the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart with Cluster, the European-African- Middle East Service Medal with eight Campaign Stars and the Distinguished Unit Badge. Ed landed on Normandy on D-Day plus 3 and eventually crossed the Remagen Bridge. After the war, he landed employment with USSteel Homestead and, later, Westinghouse Bettis. When laid off from Bettis, he became employed as a maintenance man with the Churchill School District and retired after 25 years and its merger into Woodland Hills. Ed was an usher and volunteer with St. Maurice Church where he was a pierogi-maker for the fish fry. He also was an expert handyman and was always willing and able to help friends, neighbors and family with any household or auto problem.
