Walter is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra Gregory Rock; son, Clayton James Rock I (Lanae) of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Erin E. McGregor (Craig) of Sarasota, FL; three grandchildren, Clayton James Rock II, of Las Vegas, NV/ Muscle Shoals, AL, Ruby and Gage McGregor of Sarasota, FL; brother, Michael James Soroczak (Myra) of Muscle Shoals, AL; sisters, Barbara Clifford (Charles, Sr.) of Ottawa, IL and Kathleen M. Daniels (Timothy) of Cutler Ridge, FL; two surviving aunts, Theodora Petruska and Helen Petrachevich, both of Pittsburgh, PA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a United States Army Paratrooper 101st Airborne Division Engineer Battalion. Walter was an industrial paint salesman and small business owner. He loved golf and traveling across the country on his motorcycle. Walt was a patriot, who loved the Lord, his family and his country. He will always be loved and missed by all who knew him. He enjoyed golfing, soccer, baseball, cutting wood, mowing his lawn to perfection, and spending time with the family and grandchildren. Barbara was born in Morgantown, WV, in 1926, but was a fervent Pittsburgher for more than 70 years. She attended Ohio State University and in later years graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and went on to earn a Masters in Social Work from Pitt. She was a loving and caring mother and devoted to her six grandchildren to whom she wrote creatively decorated letters that are still treasured memories of their childhoods. She was an accomplished quilter; her hand-sewn original designs are now beautifully gracing the beds of her children, nieces and nephews, grandchildren and grandnieces and grandnephews across the country. SPANG THOMAS G. Age 83, of Delmont, formerly of McKeesport, died May 4, 2018, at UPMC McKeesport. Born December 11, 1934, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Leona K. (Glaub) Spang and the loving partner of Jenny McDonald. Tom retired from US Steel National Tube, where he worked as a pipe inspector. He was a US Army veteran, serving during peacetime. Tom spent his winters in Titusville, FL, where he enjoyed fishing and catching shrimp. Tom had a green thumb and in his earlier years you could find him on the corners of Turtle Creek, selling the produce that he grew. During Christmas you could find him on Hartman St., in McKeesport, trimming and providing the community with the perfect tree to the celebrate the season. In addition to his beloved Jenny, Tom is survived by his children, James (Nancy) McDonald and Robert (Carol) McDonald; siblings, Rose Miskalis of McKeesport, Donald W. Spang of McKeesport, Herbert Spang of Homosassa, FL, Joan (Vince) Aiello of White Oak and William Spang of White Oak; also many nieces and nephews. Tom was also preceded in death by siblings, Carol Spang and Delores Marie Spang; brother-in-law, Angelo Miskalis; sister-in-law, Virginia Spang.
