BAKER MARY A. AGE 69, OF WEST ...
BAKER MARY A. Age 69, of West Mifflin passed away on July 18, surrounded by her loved ones. She courageously fought colon cancer and now God has called her home. Mary was born in McKeesport and raised in Clairton. She met James C. Baker in 1965 at a Terry Lee Dance in Glassport and they were happily married on May 24, 1969. They lived a blessed life, with over 50 years together and four children. Mary was the beloved wife of James C. Baker; mother of James Benjamin (Jamie) Baker, the late Dr. Samuel A. (Dr. Joanna) Baker, the late Brian P. Baker, and Carin N. Baker; grandmother of Samuel T. Baker, Gianna Baker, Alex Baker, Harlon Baker, Ryan Marecic; sister of Philomena Zackaryasz and the late Philip Semow; daughter of the late Samuel (Corrine) Semow. There was nothing Mary loved more than spending quality time with her family, both at home and while traveling the world. She made each moment count and lived her life with great joy. She fulfilled her life's purpose by raising a beautiful family, which was her dream and greatest achievement. Mary truly made life special for all those around her by spreading love to every person she came in contact with. She was a shining example of what life should be about, giving and caring for others, and receiving that love in return with no expectations. She was generous and always placed others before herself. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She loved homemaking, gardening, decorating, cooking, watching movies, laughing, shopping and lunching with friends. Going to the beach to see the ocean, hearing the waves crash and watching the sunset with her toes in the sand was one of her favorite things. She especially loved spring, with the flowers blooming, birds chirping, and nature coming alive after beautiful snowy winters. She was excited for each season because she had traditions for every one; traditions which have left irreplaceable imprints that we will cherish forever. Mary touched the hearts of everyone she knew in a positive way and her smile always shined bright. Her faith was absolute and she was dedicated to the Catholic Church. One of her greatest gifts was instilling that faith and dedication into her family. Her soul was pure, sweet, kind, selfless, loving, empathetic, gentle, and charitable to those in need. Her favorite scripture was Corinthians 13:4-8.
