SREENIVASAN P.A. "THATHA" P.A. Sreenivasan, or "Thatha" as he was known to his five grandchildren, was born in Palghat, India, graduated with honors from Presidency College, and lived mostly in Delhi and Chennai, India. He was an electrical engineer who worked in the field of telecommunications, starting his career in radio technology. Among the highlights of his professional career was arranging for speeches of Mahatma Gandhi to be recorded during prayer meetings in the months leading up to Gandhi's assassination, and being a Director of the Cabinet Secretariat during Indira Gandhi's administration. Thatha was a passionate do-ityourselfer who loved tinkering with technology. Thatha enjoyed spending time with his family, taking daily morning walks, keeping his mind sharp with puzzles, and diligently conducting his daily prayers. He was an avid fan of cricket, tennis, music, and was a prolific reader who filled up many notebooks with his personal thoughts on everything interesting he ever read. Thatha is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lalitha Sreenivasan with whom he enjoyed many visits to the United States; his three sons, Bala Subramanian, Srinivas Murali, and P.S. Ramesh; daughters-in-law, Lakshmi Bala, Marie Baldisseri and Radhika Ramesh; his five grandchildren, Vijay Murali, Sara Murali, Rani Murali, Mira Ramesh, and Sapna Ramesh; and his great-grandson, Ravi Murali.
