ROY SHARON L . (GLUMAC) (JUNE ...
ROY SHARON L . (GLUMAC) (June 10, 1967-December 7, 2018) Pittsburgh, PA. After a brief illness, Sharon passed away peacefully on Friday, December 7, 2018. As the eldest of the 'Glumac Girls,' and after the untimely death of their mother, Phyllis Jean (Szolek) Glumac, in 1998, Sharon often took on the role of 'In-charge' big sister. Her wonderfully intentioned, humorously tolerated efforts at 'pseudo-mothering' siblings, Linda (Glumac) Renk and Angel Glumac (formerly Graney), were epic. Sharon seemed to forget the fact that they were each a year apart. She is survived by her former husband, Rajat Roy, with whom she remained friends, and their only son, Akshay Roy, whom they lovingly co-parented. Also left behind are her father, Louis M. Glumac; nieces and nephews, Ashley and Austin Renk (father Joseph B. Renk III), Caitlin and Nicholas Graney (father Sean Graney), nieces Tarini and Nirati (parents Mamata and Narenda Nayak), in-laws Subimal and Usha Roy, and her beloved 'furbabies,' Rocky and Athena. Sharon was a 1985 graduate of Baldwin High School, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, with a major in Accounting, and a minor in Law. Sharon will be remembered as a lively, artistic, con?dent, young woman, whose absence will be greatly felt in our lives. Friends and extended family are invited to lovingly reminisce, celebrate the life and gently mourn the death of our dearly departed Sharon. Please join us at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227, 412-881-4100 on Saturday, December 15, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Funeral procession to cemetery will be immediate family only. You are welcome to bring photos that you may have of Sharon - to share or place on her memory board. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue Organization of your choice, which is something that Sharon would have greatly appreciated. He graduated with high honors from Franklin Regional High School and later from the University of Pittsburgh with distinction. He was a successful businessman and gifted salesman which stemmed from the basics of treating all those he encountered with decency. Milo was a gentle yet strong man of character and integrity who primarily valued his Serbian Orthodox faith and heritage, his many friends and Kumovi, but most importantly, family. Milo served faithfully and sel?essly as Vice President of the St. Stephen Serbian Orthodox Church in Lackawanna, NY for more than 20 years and extensively with Bratska Sloga lodge 248 in Tonawanda, NY. He was an avid golfer which started from his days as a caddy at Westmoreland Country Club when he was a youngster. This later resulted in a scholarship awarded to him from the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association (1964-1968) as well as being lucky enough to score a hole-in-one at Niagara Falls Country Club in 2001. Milo had a tremendous appreciation and love of music, primarily that of choral as well as tamburitza music. Milo was known to have a wonderful singing voice (both bass and tenor) of which he sang with the University of Pittsburgh Men's Glee Club, the St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church Choir, the St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Men's Choir, and the Kosta Manojlovich Choir of Lackawanna, NY. Additionally, both his singing and playing is preserved on albums recorded with both SERBEZ and the Kosta Manojlovich Choir. For the last 10 years or so, Milo played cello with the Adriatic Braca of Tonawanda, NY. Above all else, the true apple of Milo's eye was the arrival of his only grandchild, Melania, in March of 2018. He will undoubtedly watch over her as her guardian angel.
