MALTER WILLIAM GEORGE BILL Age 88, of O'Hara Twp., succumbed to cancer on Monday, June 22, 2015. He was the son of the late George Thomas and Lucinda Agnus (MacNamee) Malter. Bill served in the Army during WWII, he returned home and continued his service for 18 years in the Army Reserves. He was employed by Bacharach, Inc. until his retirement in 1991. Bill enjoyed traveling and woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Jeanne (Moore) Malter; his twin children, Jeffrey Thomas Malter and Jane Lucinda O'Neill; son-in-law, Patrick Pat John O'Neill; and two grandchildren, Heather and Sean O'Neill; as well as two cousins, Elizabeth Tovey of Arizona and Elise Elliot of California. WILSON ALICE FRANCES Age 95, of Pittsburgh, PA formerly of Steubenville, OH, died June 27, 2015, at U.P.M.C. Passavant. Alice was born on March 3, 1920, in Donora, PA and was the daughter of the late Murray and Frances Whitefield Fowler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Wilson; her son, Gordon Wilson; brother, William Fowler; and sister, Dorothy Mendenhall. Alice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Brian McNamara of Allison Park, PA; and daughter-in-law, Paula Wilson of Wintersville, OH; and nieces and nephews. Alice graduated from Business College and worked as a legal secretary before moving to Washington, D.C. to work for the government during WWII. After returning to Steubenville, she was employed by Weirton Steel and the Steubenville City Schools. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, watching the Steelers and working in her yard. She also had a great love for animals including her cat Whiskers and her grand dogs Rocket and Snickers. At Alice's request there will be no visitation. Private burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. GLICKSTEIN JOAN K. On Wednesday, June 24, 2015, Joan K. Glickstein, age 81, of Pleasant Hills, PA passed due to complications of lung cancer. Beloved wife of 58 years of Stanley; loving mother of Steven Glickstein (wife Sherri), Barbara Sacher (husband Seth), Karen Edeson (husband Fred) and Cathy Glickstein. She was the sister of Richard Katz; also survived by six grandchildren, Elana, Jarred, Sara, Max, Ethan and Jonah. The burial service was held in Greenwich, CT. Joan received her B.S. from Brooklyn College, M.S. from the Pennsylvania State University and her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a strong advocate for the aging community having served as a Pennsylvania delegate to the White House Conference on Aging. She continued her work advocating for the elderly through her participation in professional organizations including the American Speech Language Hearing Association, Gerontology Society of America and Southwestern Pennsylvania Partnership for Aging. She was honored and received the Charles W. Pruitt, Jr. Award of Excellence for her outstanding contributions to the field of aging. She was also an author and editor of several publications in the healthcare community. In addition, she volunteered her time as a docent at the Senator John Heinz History Center and to her local synagogue, Beth Israel Center.
