BOUMA PAUL E. April 16, 1924 to Nov. 26, 2013. Paul E. Bouma, 89, Duncansville, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. He was born in Coraopolis, son of the late John and Esther (Gass) Bouma. He married Alice Kelly in Pittsburgh. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Alice Holmes and husband, George and Linda Osborne and husband, Dennis; and four grandchildren, Wayne and Daniel Holmes and Steven and Kelly Osborne. He was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin. Paul was a 1943 graduate of Coraopolis High School and a 1949 graduate of Duquesne University. He was employed as a sales manager for National Lead Co. of Pittsburgh and Hightstown, NJ and Fry Metals, Altoona. After retirement, he worked as a tipstaff at the Blair County Courthouse. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg. Paul held volunteer positions with First Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg, Blair County Redevelopment & Housing Authority (COBRAH), Altoona Food Bank, Jaffa Shrine, and Hollidaysburg Area Public Library. He also served as a councilman for Bellevue Borough in Allegheny County in the early 1970s. He enjoyed working, volunteering, golfing, and gardening and also enjoyed the people he met through those endeavors. Friends will be received from 1 until the 2 p.m. Funeral Service Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at THE GOOD FUNERAL HOME INC., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Pastor Chuck Monts officiating. Interment will be in Union Dale Cemetery in Pittsburgh. ALI DOROTHY JEANNETTE (FINK) 95, of South Park, formerly of Mt. Washington, died on November 26, 2013, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of John and Jeannette Fink; beloved wife of the late Samuel Ali; beloved mother of Jeannette Chamberlin, Judy Huddart and Joyce Ali Campbell; loving grandmother of Kristen Johanson, Leslie Huddart and Cheryl Aspinwall; great- grandmother of Zander Johanson. She will also be missed by her two grand-puppies, Izze and Bongo. Dorothy graduated from South Hills High School and Pittsburgh Business Training College. During World War II, she volunteered as a Red Cross Nurse's Aide at Magee Hospital, and worked in the payroll department at Dravo. Dorothy was proud to be a charter member of the Windover Hills United Methodist Church for 54 years. She was instrumental in starting the Windover Hills Women's Club, now the South Park Women's Club. She remained active for many years, serving as President for a year. Dorothy was a member of the Norrington Trotters Square Dancing Group, South Park Bowling Team, A.A.R.P. #506 Chapter, Church S.A.S.S. Group and the South Park Ladies Marathon Bridge Group. One of Dorothy and Samuel's daughters had Polio at a young age. This led to Dorothy's involvement in the South Park/Pleasant Hills chapter of the March of Dimes. She served as Chairman of the Scholarship Committee and organized a polio inoculation clinic. A member of the International Foreign Exchange Student Organization, she entertained a foreign exchange student in her home from Uruguay, South America, and helped with the placement of students in USA homes. Dorothy received the “First Lady of the Day” for outstanding social and civic progress of the Greater Pittsburgh area. She was also a finalist in the Mrs. America Contest. Although she worked for the Greater Pittsburgh Convention & Visitors Bureau for many years, her most important role in life was a loving and dedicated mother and wife. Dorothy Ali will be remembered with great love and enormous respect by her family and many friends. A beautiful life that comes to an end. BAGLEY PATRICIA ANN Age 74, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, November 22, 2013. Beloved mother of Kimberly S. Bagley and William P. Bagley, both of Pittsburgh; daughter of the late James P., Sr. and Margret Culliver; a devoted and loving companion of 40 years, George Breeding; also survived by three brothers; five sisters; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A Memorial Celebration will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. in the Church of Our Saviour, United Methodist Church, 1502 Chicago Street, Northview Heights. Mrs. Bagley was very active with the Housing Authority of Pittsburgh. She received numerous awards and recognition plaques. She started her outstanding community service with the Northview Heights in 1995, where she was named commissioner on the Housing Authority Board for her dedicated stewardship and guidance. She was honored for her commitment and concern for the residents of Pittsburgh, PA, where she had Thanksgiving Dinner for the elderly at her home, and feeding all those that wanted to come. Mrs. Bagley started feeding seven people in 1996, and with her love for the elderly, it grew to over 300 people. She also ran an afterschool program called "Beverly Jewel Wall Love Lace" children's programs with Ms. Winnie Evans. Also, to add to her list of accomplishments, Mrs. Bagley was a graduate of Trafford High School and served on many advisory boards. Send condolences at post-gazette.com/gb
