MARKIEWICZ RONALD MARKIE Of West Mifflin, on April 2, 2018, age 81. Beloved husband of 54 years to Barbara (Krevy) Markiewicz; son of the late Bronie and Eleanor (Weinberg) Markiewicz; loving father of Joe Markiewicz and Michele Missy Markiewicz; brother of Jackie Hyman. Ronald was a 1958 graduate of Penn State, played football under coach Rip Engle and was recruited by Joe Paterno. Ron started his teaching career at Homeville Junior High where he met his wife of 54 years. He then went to West Mifflin South where he also was the head football coach. After the merger he was the first head coach for West Mifflin Area School District. Ron was also an assistant coach for Duquesne High School and Belle Vernon High School.
