EUGENE COSTA Age 85, passed away at home surrounded by his blessed family on Sunday, April 26, 2020, of Whitehall. Gene dedicated his life to his wife and family. Loving and devoted husband of 61 years to Betty (Kubiak) Costa; loving father of Diane (Anthony) Calderone, Geralyn (Bill) Snyder, Donald (Carla) Costa and the late infant son Robert Eugene Costa; loving Papa to Cara Calderone (Greg Hubert), Christopher (Candace) Snyder, Joshua (Callie) Costa, Nicole Snyder and Maura Costa; loving Great-Papa to Caleb Eli Olmes and Gemma Hubert; brother of Kathleen (the late Lee) Pauley, Charles (Linda) Costa of Rio Vista, CA, Marian (Herb) Zaar of Columbus, OH, and Regis (Sue) Costa of Irwin. Fun uncle to many nieces and nephews; son of the late Charles and Stella (Magera) Costa. Gene was a milkman with Schneider's Dairy for 40 years. Gene dedicated his life to Betty and their family. He was an incredible husband and father. Before thinking of himself, he always put first his wife, children and grandchildren. He was truly the greatest man we ever met and he will never be forgotten. His big smile, especially while holding a baby, is engraved in our minds. Gene and Betty's marriage was a love story adored by everybody they met. Our parents' love was a perfect example of what love should be. Gene earned the respect of all who knew him. Gene loved the outdoors: fishing, hunting and walking with Betty and their dogs. Gene's sense of humor and infectious laugh have been inherited by his children and grandchildren. A private viewing was held. A funeral mass will be held at a future date. Arrangements entrusted to JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227.
