KOROTKO JOSEPH D. A lifelong resident of North Braddock, age 75, on Thursday, January 25, 2018. Beloved husband of Pauline (Mitnik) Korotko for 52 years. Proud and devoted father of Joseph J. (Jennifer) Korotko of North Versailles and Steven (Carolyn) Korotko of North Braddock. Treasured grandfather of T.J., Danielle, Haley, Zachary, Joseph C., Ashley and the late Katelyn. Brother of James (Sue) Korotko of Penn Hills, Rose (Bob) Turzak of Union City, the late John “Jack” (surviving spouse, Helen) Korotko and the late infant, Richard. Joe was a 1961 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School and a Vietnam Era Army veteran. He was employed at Mesta Machine until it shut down and then worked for 33 years with Langenfelder Trucking, servicing the Edgar Thomson US Steel plant. Joe also served his community of North Braddock. He was a member of Borough Council for 8 years and he was a Life Member of the North Braddock Fire Department, having served as both Chief of its #2 Fire Department and as Borough Chief. Joe was a member of the East Pittsburgh V.F.W. Post #5008, the White Oak American Legion, the Slovak Club in Braddock and he served as an usher with Good Shepherd Parish. KING WILLIAM ADRIAN (Bill or Rex to his high school and college buddies), beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died January 25, 2018. He was born December 2, 1929, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late William Adrian King and Marie Trakofler King. His sister, Dorothy Monaghan Nagorski, predeceased him. He graduated from St. Fidelis High School in 1947 and St. Vincent College Seminary in 1951. Bill spent most of his adult life working in the financial industry at Mellon Bank 1956-1967, United Mercantile Agencies 1967-1969, and First Commonwealth Bank 1969 till retirement in 1994. In retirement, Bill enjoyed working in real estate. Bill married Naomi Niebel on August 26, 1961, at St. Augustine Church, Pittsburgh, at a Solemn High Mass. They raised four wonderful children. Bill was very active in the Catholic Church and in charitable and civic organizations. He was a member of Saints Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, where he sang in the choir, served as a lector, a Sunday School Teacher, and was active with the annual church bazaar for 25 years. Bill was a real life "Jack of all trades". He was skilled in woodworking, building, working with all types of tools, doing electrical work, and tinkering with anything he would get his hands on. His all-time favorite sports team was the Pirates, but he was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh teams. Bill was a very kind and thoughtful person with a genuine and engaging personality. One of his greatest loves was being with family and friends. A naturally social, people-person, Bill had a special ability to connect with anyone he met. He was an inspiration to not only his family, but also to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Surviving are wife, Naomi; children, Thomas (Amy) King of Erie, Anita (John) Mottillo of Meadville, Kevin of Indiana, and Kathleen (William) Ramirez of Mesa, AZ. Also surviving are grandchildren, Nicole (Nicholas) Moegenberg, Joseph Mottillo, Emily (Cody) Hunter, Philip Mottillo, Rachel King, Ryan King, Manuel Ramirez, Kalie Ramirez, Jacob Ramirez, and Gregory Ramirez; step-grandchildren, Brandon Ramirez, Jacob Brown, Jordan Brown, and Rebekah Brown; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Moegenberg; step- great-granddaughter, Analei Ramirez; nephew, Michael Monaghan; and niece, Nancy Monaghan. DOWDEN PATRICIA Patricia Dowden, age 72, of North Versailles, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, in Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. Born December 17, 1945, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Jerome J. and Katherine (Brown) Pater. A member of St. Angela Merici Parish in White Oak, Patricia retired as both an OB/GYN Registered Nurse at Forbes Hospital and as a travel agent for AAA in Monroeville and Group Travel in East Liberty. For 15 years, she designed costumes for East Allegheny School District's musicals and specialties for their color guard, winning the Grace Kelly Award for best costume design. She enjoyed going to the theater, family beach vacations, and dining out. Patricia was the beloved wife of Del Dowden and his Doodle Bug of 53 years; mother of Danette (Mike) Pilon of Ocean Springs, MS, and Lauren (Tony Mendoza) Dowden of Chicago, IL; grandmother of Nicholas Moger, Meghan (Jack) Byrd, Olivia (Mark) Johnson, and Emma and Lily Walter; great-grandmother of Grayson Johnson; sister of Ret. Col. Richard (Maria) Pater of Florida; mother-in-law of Jim Walter of Shaler; also, one nephew and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Leslie Walter.
