EDBERG DR. SANFORD HOWARD Born June 6, 1931 in New York City, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Reva (Bladowsky) Edberg. He was a beloved father of Jacqueline (Yvan) Edberg Bergeron and Dr. Deborah (Rick) Edberg Wood; grandfather of Madeleine, Isabel, and Ethan. He is also survived by his sister, Erma (Herb) Edberg Hoffman and countless friends. He served in the U.S. Navy as Lieutenant Commander in the Medical Corp from 1960 to 1964. Dr. Edberg had a distinguished career as a pathologist for 40 years at Suburban General Hospital in Bellevue, PA. During his time there, he was appointed Coroner of Allegheny County by Governor Dick Thornburg in the 1980s. He was an unapologetically honest man and he never said a thing he didn't mean and never did a thing he didn't want to do. He was a brilliant doctor with a sharp and sometimes biting sense of humor. He was fiercely proud of his family and was much beloved by all. He will be well remembered and sorely missed. COLAVINCENZO PATRICIA DONAHOE Age 69, of Beaver, PA, passed away after a long fight with brain cancer. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many, her loving, supportive, and creative nature will continue to inspire far beyond her years on this earth. Preceded in death by her father, John A. Donahoe. Survived by her mother, Ann Marie Donahoe, Pittsburgh; her loving husband of 44 years, J. Philip; her four children, Maria (John Galvin), Chicago, IL, Rita (Simon Wilson), Ireland, John (Bethany Giles), Wellesley, MA, and Lucy, Beaver; her grandchildren Emma, Grant, Cara, and Nathaniel Colavincenzo, Wellesley, MA; Lydia, Eloise and Patrick Galvin, Chicago, IL; Orla Wilson, and soon-to-arrive baby grandson, Ireland; her four siblings, Anne, John, Robert and Michael Donahoe; one of her beloved cats Oliver, having recently lost Finn. Patricia, known to most as Patty, was a native of Mount Lebanon, PA. She attended Fontbonne Academy, and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University. She excelled in creative design and culinary arts. Patty's passion for family and friends, her ability to make the most of time together, is an inspiration that will live on in all those who miss her so dearly. HILSTER NICHOLAS “NICK” ALBERT Age 20, of Zelienople, passed away at home on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Born November 9, 1997 in McCandless Twp., he was the son of Timothy A. Hilster and Jennifer M. Blahut Hilster. Nick was a cook for Treesdale Golf and Country Club. He was also a black belt in Taekwondo. An outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed spending time at McConnell's Mills. He loved cooking, listening to music and playing guitar. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Timothy A. and Jennifer M. Hilster of Zelienople; his maternal grandmother, Linda Blahut of Zelienople; his paternal grandmother, Karen Carns of Latrobe; his brother and sister, Antonio J. and Abigail R. MAGRI FRANK E. Age 71, of Peters Twp., passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, peacefully with his family by his side. Born June 4, 1946, Frank was the only child of the late Edward M. and Mary H. (Amodeo) Magri. He attended Central Catholic High School and graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and was a member of ROTC. Frank served in Vietnam as a Captain in the Army Corp of Engineers. Following his tour, Frank co-owned Allegheny Home Improvements with his business partner, Cliff Westwood and later was employed as a ramp supervisor with USAir. He was an active member of the Pittsburgh Garden Railway Society and VFW Post #764 in McMurray. Frank was an exceptionally creative and skilled artisan who poured his heart into all of his projects. Frank's greatest joy was always his family and friends and he treasured a full house and gatherings around the kitchen table, as well as celebrating his grandchildren's special milestones. Frank will be deeply missed and always remembered by his devoted wife of 50 years, Jacqueline L. Magri; his children, Jacquelyn (David) Richert, Christine (William) Branch, Tina Magri (Rodger Schantz), and Michael Magri; his grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, and Jacob Richert, William and Elizabeth Branch, Hannah McCollum, Isabella and Luciano Magri. FRKETIC EDWARD JOHN Age 85, of Hampton Twp., went to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Born May 14, 1932, in Etna, he was the son of the late Michael G. and Anna (Kasun) Frketic. Ed enjoyed his retirement from Blaw-Knox Equipment by flying kites at Hartwood and Hampton Community Park loved entertaining the children with his kites. Ed became known as the “The Kiteman “. If he was not flying kites you could she him picking up trash along Middle Road and some side streets. Ed served four years in the US Navy during the Korean conflict, aboard the USS Hunt, USS Ross, and the USS Triumph. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna Marie (Hrason) Frketic; sons, Thomas (Ellen) and James (Susan) Frketic; daughter, Carole (Justin) Hoffman; grandchildren, Cecilia, Justin, Alex, and Patrick; sister, Loretta Nickel; brother-in-law to Fran Kraus and Joseph Hrason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Michael and Richard Frketic. CORNELIUS FREDERICK J. Died peacefully, at home in Moon Twp., surrounded by family and friends on April 28, 2018. Born in McKees Rocks on November 21, 1939, son of John and Lillian Cornelius. Much beloved husband for 48 years of Sandra Julius Cornelius; cherished father of Amy Cornelius Dembosky of Beechview and David Cornelius of Irwin; father-in-law of Jacob Dembosky and Kelly Cornelius; dear grandfather of Grace, Andrew, and Aaron; brother of Robert Cornelius and Nina Ellis; brother-in-law of Kathy Ditch, Deborah Kossler, Margaret Cornelius, Rod Ellis, and the late Mary Jo Eaborn; special uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Cornelius was a sergeant in the United States Army from 1962-65. Before moving to Moon Twp., Fred lived in Findlay Twp., Home, PA, and Carlton, PA, and was a longtime sales representative in the oil and gas industry. He finished his career working with people with disabilities at Polk Center. Fred was a kind and patient caregiver, even helping his roommates in the hospital when he could. He was a member of the Ringold Band for many years, playing the tuba in countless parades and concerts. Fred was a member of several Masonic organizations, including Crafton-Guyasuta Masonic Lodge #513, Chartiers Commandery #78, St. Clair Royal Arch Chapter #300, and was set to receive his 50 year pin from Islam Grotto on May 17. He was Past Master of Crafton Lodge #563. Fred attended of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Moon, where he participated in services by reading scripture. Fred was an avid reader and loved studying history. He was a former Steelers season ticket-holder and loved the Penguins, too. BASA RITA M. (BENEC) Age 91, of Ross Township, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Beloved wife of 61 years of the late William J. Basa; mother of Marian Basa, Geraldine (Kenneth Barker) Basa and William (Ginger) Basa; grandmother of Andrew (Kristin Price) Scibetta, Kia (Sean) Wirth and Lucy, Caleb, John and Cricket Basa; great-grandmother of Sawyer, Fallon, Ryker and Loch Wirth; daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Benec. Rita was a long-time Bridal Consultant at Celebrations and David's Bridal in the North Hills. She was actively involved in St. Sebastian's parish as a member of the Women's Guild, Lector, Funeral Planner and member of the Funeral Choir. Family and friends received at the WALTER J.
