HOLMES KENNETH WAYNE Age 88, of Dravosburg, passed away at home Wednesday, August 29, 2018. He was born December 20, 1929 in McKeesport to the late Jerry and Mary Cigrand Holmes. Kenny was a loving husband to his late wife, Iva Beitler Holmes, for 38 years; he is survived by nieces and nephews; along with his parents and wife, Kenny was preceded in death by his faithful companion of many years, Betty Hollenbeck; sisters, Mattie Econovich, Emmie Holmes; and brothers, William, Charles, John, Jerry, and Harry Holmes. He served in the US Army during WWII and also served during the Korean War, was a member of Dravosburg United Methodist Church, was an avid hunter, loved driving cars and golfing, but most of all loved his family. Kenny was honored and delighted to receive his "60 year" pin as a member of the Duquense/McKeesport Lodge #731 of the Free and Accepted Masons. Arrangements have been entrusted to I. M. His funeral Mass will be Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The Little Sisters of the Poor Chapel in Pittsburgh, PA. The love of his life, Dolly, was by his side, with the support of her sisters, Annie, Gerry, and Mary Margaret. He left behind his soul mate, Dolly (Lieb); three daughters, Peggy Watkins (Doug), Holly Bayne (Bob), Heidi Owen (Tim); seven grandchildren, Matt, Gregory, Edward, Jacquelyn, Katelyn, Coltin, and Robert III; he was preceded in death by his son, Robert, Jr. He was a wonderful husband, Dad and Grandfather. He was a Korean war veteran (1st Calvary) and retired electrician. He blessed his children with the ability to never meet a stranger, the gift of gab, and boundless energy. A large part of Bob's life was his dedication to his family and the mission and caring of the Little Sisters of the Poor. DELL'AQUILA LOUIS JOHN Born July 7, 1931, died October 3, 2017. The baby of ten children of a strong Italian mother, Lou was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Rosasco Dell'Aquila; and is survived by his second wife, Kathleen Howsare Dell'Aquila; five children; and eight grandchildren. Lou attended Washington and Jefferson and Dickinson School of Law. An attorney by profession, an administrator at the Veterans Administration, and a retired Colonel in the Army, Lou's real passion was cooking. He hosted massive Christmas Eve parties for over 50 years, serving weird seafood and lighting puddings on fire. A "first-generation ItalianAmerican Republican Presbyterian Mason," Lou had a huge personality, always helping the underdog and arguing the other side. Lou woke up happy every morning, and he loved life, good food, wine, friends and family. Though he did his best to prevent us from mourning him, we miss him every day. GILLESPIE MARY PATRICE "PATTY" (WILLIAMS), M.D. Patty Gillespie, 68, of Squirrel Hill died peacefully at home with her family on Saturday, August 25, 2018 after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Patty will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 39 years, James J. Gillespie, Jr.; and daughters Sarah (Andrew Hayhurst), Rebecca (David Tufiño), and Liz Lang (John Paul); and five precious grandchildren, J.J., Patty, Luisa, William and Nolan; she is also survived by her loving sisters, Becky Talbott (Bill) of Galion, OH, Marty Radtke (Mike) of Columbus, OH, Sally McKechnie (Les) of Needham, MA, Libby Bickley (Don) of Columbus, OH and Lorrie Hubert (Joe) of Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-law Madlyn McPherson (Joe) of Silver Spring, MD; step-motherin-law Rita Gillespie of Boston, MA; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and Godmother and aunt Mary Nolan Bimmler. She is predeceased by her parents, Sally (Nolan) and A. Eugene Williams, Jr. Patty graduated from Bucyrus High School, Bucyrus, OH, the Ohio State University and Tulane University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in General and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at WPIC, University of Pittsburgh. For the 25 years before her retirement Dr. Gillespie practiced as a psychiatrist for Heritage Valley, Sewickley Hospital providing outpatient services and consultation to schools and agencies that served special needs individuals. She always found her work to be very rewarding. Outside of work, Patty enjoyed gardening, walking, traveling, attending the theater, restoring her Victorian-era home, and spending time with her family and friends. She volunteered with the Girl Scouts as a troop leader, for the Squirrel Hill Historical Society as treasurer and for AARP as a tax preparer. Friends and family are welcome at McCABE BROS., INC. They lived in Baldwin Township, where they raised their three children and George began a lifelong career, spanning 55 years, at Rohrich Automotive Group. George was a driven professional, a strong family man and a generous friend and neighbor. His children and grandchildren brought him his greatest joy. He enjoyed golf, boating, cars, reading and spending time with his large family. George was a selfless man, who left the world a little bit better.
