CONROY CAPTAIN JOHN PATRICK, USN (Ret.) Age 82, of Collier Township, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018, after a noble fight with a lengthy illness, being held by family. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Mary King Conroy and Patrick Joseph Conroy, from Ireland. Married 47 years to his beloved wife, Barbara Thomas Conroy. Proud father of Mary Adams (Jay), and Laura Rust (Patrick). Daideo of Ellen Adams, Cullen and Harper Rust, all of Pittsburgh. Also survived by many cousins in Ireland and the USA. John was a graduate of Duquesne University, where he was a member of the Gamma Phi Fraternity and DUVA. He received a Master of Arts from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. John has always worked in the financial field, most recently at Wells Fargo Advisors in Pittsburgh. He taught investments for many years at Mt. Lebanon High School's Adult Education Program, as well as those of LaRoche College and Central Catholic High School. His greatest professional love was his career in the US Naval Reserve, spanning three decades, retiring with the rank of Captain.
