GUZZO FRANKLIN J. "ZEKE" Franklin J. "Zeke" Guzzo, 81, of Robinson Township, formerly of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully at his home supported by his loving family on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Born in Coraopolis on April 9, 1937, he was one of four children to the late Joseph and Caroline (Murgia) Guzzo. Beloved husband for 35 years to Linda (Hiebner) Guzzo; loving father of Jeffrey Guzzo of Kennedy; brother of Rose Marie McDowell of Greentree. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Patty Fattani and brother David Guzzo. Franklin was an up-beat person, knew many people that he called friends and had a pleasant disposition. Never afraid to try new endeavors, he was owner and operator of Guzzo's Deli on Rt. 60 in Robinson Twp. from 1980- 2015. Pauline was the beloved wife of 52 years to Robert Sanner; loving mom of Paula Jo Kirchner, Robert (Patty) Sanner, George (Marilyn) Sanner and the late Chad Sanner; special grandma of seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Homer served in the Army from 1961-1963. He worked at Westinghouse Electric as a Draftsman and Senior Designer and then later went on to work for Contraves USA as a designer on the Subaru Telescope. His best achievement was being an amazing husband and father. His family meant everything to him, and he meant everything to his family. SCHNUR ANNA MARIE Anna Marie Schnur was born October 27, 1930 in West Mifflin PA. She lost her mother at the age of five and was raised in Homestead by her aunts. She showed an interest in art at an early age, and befriended a family friend and artist who taught her oil painting. In 1952 she received a B.S. in art education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and begin her career as an elementary art teacher. In 1960 she earned a Master's of Fine Arts from Penn State University. In 1972 she left teaching and pursued art full-time. Her complete body of work earned her both commercial and art community recognition. She won eight juried awards from the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, the IUP Ambassador Award, and the Lee Atkins Memorial Award for Artistic Distinction among many others. Her early work was largely influenced by Andrew Wyeth, with large canvas landscapes in the Bradywine School tradition while her later work was more influenced by the Surrealist school. Her work has been on exhibit both nationally and internationally and her paintings remain highly sought after by private collectors in the US and in Europe. Anna is survived by her dear friend Sallie Zoerb of Somerset; and her sister, Elsie Jenkins of Homestead; as well as loving nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be welcomed from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. with a service immediately following on Sunday, September 23rd, at MILLER FUNERAL HOME, in Somerset. Born in upstate NY, Joan lived in multiple places around the US before making Pittsburgh her home for the last 50 years. Joan continued her journey with a Master degree from the University of Pittsburgh leading to a new career working at Heinz World Corp. She spent her final decades of glorious retirement volunteering, traveling the world and spending time with her family.
