YOUNG SHIRLEY C. “SHERRY” COTTRELL Of Freedom, PA, formerly of McCandless Twp., passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014. She was born on January 15, 1922, in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of Ensign and Evelyn Taylor Cottrell and wife for 59 years of the late Gordon H. Young. She is survived by three sons, Gregory C. (Faye) Young of St. Louis, MO, Gordon Larry (Leslie) Young of Phoenix, AZ, and Geoffrey Ensign (Joan) Young of Chicago, IL; and one daughter, Virginia E. (Thomas) Patsilevas of Franklin Park, PA; grandchildren, Lauren, Becca, the late Ray, Kelly Young, Tracy, and Tricia Patsilevas; great- grandmother of Skylar, Grayson, and Carter; sister of Nancy Cottrell Grimshaw (the late Redvers) of Penrose, NC; sister-in-law of Dawn Cottrell (wife of her brother, the late Jack Worthington Cottrell) of Manlius, NY; and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Young was a graduate of Rider College, now Rider University, where she and her husband met. Active member of Ingomar United Methodist Church (co-designed the kneeling cushions), New Century Club of Ingomar, National Association of Miniaturists and served on the Election Board of McCandless for 35 years. Worked as visitor of Ingomar United Methodist Church and as secretary of the Western PA Lutheran Synod. Playing bridge, reading, working with miniatures and crafts were her interests. LEONELLI BERNARD T. Of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on March 14, 2014, at age 92. Born August 1, 1921, in Campagna di Rome, Italy, Bernie was the son of the late Assunta (Forniciatti) and Thomas Leonelli. His beloved wife, Joyce Maye (Durigon), passed away 1989. Bernie was the loving father of Susan Bentz, Donna Lawrence (Joseph) and the late Bernard T. Leonelli, Jr. He was the cherished Pappy of Jeffrey Bentz, Brandon Bentz, Joel Richardson, Deanna Kozak, Laura Richardson, Tommy Leonelli, Shanna Hennessy, Steven Lawrence and Joe Lawrence, Jr. He was the great- grandfather of 11. A longtime resident of Pittsburgh, Bernie worked at the Pittsburgh Brewing Company. He proudly served our country in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of ISDA (Italian Sons and Daughters of America), the VFW, but his family was his life. Frank served in the Us Navy from 1951-1955, after which he joined the US Air Force in 1957 and retired in 1973. CONROY ROBERT P. On Sunday, March 16, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Mary Louise Joyce Conroy; father of Thomas J. Conroy, Eileen M. Conroy, Mary Lou Conroy (John Sufca) and the late Patricia Ann Conroy; grandfather of Kelly M. Conroy-Hosack (Mike); great- grandfather of Jordan Hosack; brother of the late Michael Conroy and Thomas Conroy, who gave his life in the U.S. Army during WWII. "Bobby" was a retired Sergeant with the Pittsburgh Police Department and a member of FOP Lodge #1, and the Pittsburgh Police Emerald Society. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he survived his time as a German POW, earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service, and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. A proud member of AOH Division 9's "Oakland Irish,” Bob served as the 2010 Grand Marshall of Pittsburgh's St. Patrick's Day parade, never missing a parade until yesterday. In his retirement, Bob served as a volunteer at St. Regis Church and worked until he was 82 as an usher at the Civic Arena. Friends will be received at JOHN A. ROSKO MARY LOUISE (RAFFERTY) Age 83, of Penn Hills, peacefully, following complications from Parkinson's Disease, on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Charles Rosko; mother of Mary Pat (the late Robert) Acquaviva, Chuck (Betsey) Rosko and John M. Rosko; grandmother of Robert (Gina) and Rachel (Evan) Acquaviva, Benjamin, Zachary (Roxanne), Nathaniel and Samuel Rosko, and Justin, Melissa, Amy, Emily and Kelly Rosko; great-grandmother of Ava. A devoted woman, Mary Louise was an Elder at Unity Community Church where she built the foundation of her faith which sustained her through many of life's challenges, including a battle with Polio as a child and being widowed at age 57. She had a love for gardening, especially wild flowers, and enjoyed cross-stitching and watching QVC. Fond memories of her included trips to Ocean City with the family. TIMKO ELIZABETH Age 88, on Friday, March 14, 2014, Elizabeth “Betty” Waszo Timko of Plum Borough, formerly of North Braddock, died. She is a daughter of the late George and Julia Petrisko Waszo. She was the wife of the late Michael George Timko. She is survived by a son, David (Valorie) Timko of Plum Borough; a daughter, Sherry Sheret of Idaho; her grandson, Michael Bryan Timko; and two great-grandchildren, Michael Timko, Jr. and Mila Grace Timko; her sisters, Anna (late Steve) Evasovich of VA, Eleanor Lucero of Nevada; and a brother, William (Helen) Waszo of Jeanette. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William P. and his wife, Dottie Timko; and a sister, Mary Konsol (late Raymond). Private burial took place in Braddock Cemetery, alongside of her husband, Michael.
