MILLER MARILYN D. Age 91 of Uniontown, PA died peacefully at Uniontown Hospital on December 19, 2018 with family at her side. She was born May 25, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Jesse W. and Hilda C. Miller. Preceding her in death were her parents and brothers, Jesse Miller Jr. and Ronald Miller. Surviving are her sister, Betty Murphy and many relatives and friends. She received her Master's Degree in the Library School at University of Pittsburgh. Marilyn became a medical librarian at the Veterans Administration in Washington D.C., Birmingham, Alabama and Shreveport, Louisiana and then retired from Uniontown Hospital. She led the music at Tent Presbyterian Church. The family will greet friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, PA, on Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 5:00 p.m., with Reverend Carol Friend of?ciating. (Cunningham) Scheerbaum; father of Gary (Michele) Scheerbaum and Diane (Lawrence) Reaghard; brother of Janet (Jay) Biery and the late Hazel Lisman, Alvin, Gilbert Jr., and Elmer Scheerbaum; step-grandfather of Jennifer Culligan; and great-grandfather of Camden and Keelan Culligan. Wagner; sister of Jim, Mike (Sandy), Tom (the late Glenda), Dave (Michele) Bob (Karla), Susan, and the late Gerard Wagner; aunt of Mike, Stephen, Amanda, Matthew, Madison, Logan, Lucas, Jordan, and Courtney Wagner. Mary Ann was a Penn Hills Graduate. She worked for Gulf Research and Xerox Corporation. She was an accomplished dancer and dance instructor. Mary Ann moved to Seymour three years ago, and was a volunteer educator of the foster grandparent program, working at St. Ambrose Catholic School. She was the wife of James Nolf; and daughter of George Wilmot and the late Mary Niemetz; she was mother to Sara (Chris) Eisel of Munhall, PA, Stephanie (Richard) Nelson of Anchorage, AK, Nicole Nix of Leechburg, PA, Samantha Nix of Erie, PA and the late Anna Mae Moran; she was the loving sister of Del (Val) Wilmot of Pgh., PA, Bonnie Suprano of Leechburgh, PA, Earl (Mary) Wilmot of Albany, NY and the late Dennis and William Wilmot; Margie was also the grandmother of ten beautiful grandchildren whom she loved dearly; she also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. WASHBURN JO ANN NIED On December 7, 2018, formerly of Edgewood, passed away in Parker, CO after a valiant ?ght with Ovarian Cancer. The community will truly miss this shining star. Beloved wife of 28 years of Brooks Washburn; dear mother to Carter and Casey Washburn; loving daughter of Margaret C. Nied and the late Tom Nied; sister of Tom and his wife, Michelle, Mary Ellen and her husband, Mark, Charlie and his wife, Cynthia, Peter "P.J." and his wife, Maggie, Chris, and Robin and her husband, Bill; Jo Ann is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jo Ann and Brooks moved to Denver, CO in 1997. She launched her highly successful culinary services company, and was the Executive Chef at BAC/ Ferguson. Jo Ann truly had the most awesome, devoted friends in Denver that her family will never be able to thank for taking such tender, loving care of her during several years of ?ghting cancer. Jo Ann lived a remarkable life, making every day count, ?lled with family, friends, creating amazing foods, travel, music, and enjoying the outdoors. She was one-in-a-million, able to see the beauty in everything and everyone. Jo Ann's true roots remained in Pittsburgh, and she was proud of Pittsburgh's emergence as a "foodie" town. She kept in close touch with many childhood friends, and was a fanatical Steelers fan in the heart of enemy Bronco territory. DuFOUR GARY J. Died of cancer at age 67 on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, surrounded by his family. A saintly gentleman whose sterling character and insightful wit were always at the service of family and friends, and to champion a just cause. Gary would allow no one to be mistreated in his presence. After university, he enjoyed a 40-year career in public service as an urban planner, manager of several cities, and an economic development director in Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Gary's days in the Pittsburgh area as the City Manager of Steubenville, and neighboring Weirton, were among his most cherished. A resident of Beaver, PA, Gary was born in Uniontown to the late William D. and Helen N. DuFour. Beloved brother of Diane DuFour Gaudio, William and Charlotte DuFour, Gregory DuFour and Barbara Sadek, and Denise and Mark Bressi; Gary also relished the affection of an extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as close friends, Vikki Hasak, Craig Petrella, and Ed and Angie Palumbo. Esteemed and loved by many, Gary will be remembered always. The funeral was held on Saturday, the 24th of November. BRENEMAN DONALD P. Age 82, a resident of Pleasant Hills, formerly of Oakland, passed away on December 20, 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Breneman; four children, Catherine Breneman, Donald (Lori) Breneman, Caroline Breneman, and Matthew (Karrie) Breneman; six grandchildren, Madeline, Donald, Michael, Lily, and Zachary Breneman and Ellen Hallman; siblings, Charles (Stephanie) Morrison and Elizabeth (David) Guydan; sisters-in-law, Virginia Breneman and Darlene (Al) Akers; and brother-in-law, Glenn (Mary Anne) Crawford. Preceded in death by his father, Frances E. Breneman; mother and stepfather, Ann C. and Charles “Chick” Morrison; and brother, Lawrence Breneman. Donald was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Georgetown University. He earned his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. Donald served his country as a Major in the United States Army and went on to serve his community as a psychiatrist at Mercy Hospital, Westmoreland Hospital, Chestnut Ridge Counseling Services, and Pyramid Healthcare.
