
STUBNA SR. HILDA (BARBARA) On March 23, 2014, in Fond Du Lac, WI. SR. Hilda (Barbara) Stubna was born Oct. 11, 1919, in Scrubgrass Hollow, Scott Twp., daughter of Maria and Ferdinand Stubna. She attended a country school in Woodville, PA for four years before attending a Catholic School at St. Joseph Parish in Carnegie, taught by the nuns of St. Agnes. Deciding to become a nun, she entered the convent of St. Agnes in Fond Du Lac, WI, where she completed high school and college. After professing her vows, she became an elementary school teacher. Her assignments were in Hays, KS, Altoona, PA, and the New York area. She taught in Yonkers, the Bronx (during 9-11) and finally at the Leo House. From New York she made two trips to the Lourdes Grotto, France. She was a choir leader at mass said by her nephew, Fr. Kris Stubna and she loved to play Scrabble, it was a test of skill she enjoyed. When Sr. Edna's health began to fail, she was transferred to Fond Du Lac to care for her. She is survived by one sister, Irene Stubna Pagliai of McDonald, PA; many nieces and nephews; and the sisters of St. Agnes, with whom she lived, prayed and ministered. Preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Ferdinand Stubna; sisters, Ida Clark, Mathilda Grandinette, Mary Mondine, Theresa Michaels and Sr. Edna (Helen) Stubna; and brothers, Steven, David, Ferdinand, and Michael.
